I have had Animal Crossing: City Folk on Wii for a couple of months now and I have been playing it as time allows. If you are in the mood to sit down and have some relaxing, yet fun time; this is the game for you. If you don’t have the time to put in to it, then this may not be the game for you.
Overall, Animal Crossing is about starting a new life in a small town that you name. You converse with your local animal neighbors by making small talk, trading items and delivering presents. You can also go to the shops and places around the town to buy clothes, furniture and more items. The majority of your time is spent trying to earn Bells, which is the currency of the game. Bells are found in trees, get them from animals and by selling things at Tom Nook’s Shop. Tom Nook is the animal that owns the store where you can in turn, buy things like seeds, tools, furniture.. just about everything!
Also Tom Nook will give you a mortgage when you first get a house. Once that one is paid off, you can get more mortgages. One is enough for me. LOL!

There’s a hairdresser, a fortune teller, a theatre and an upper-class store among other things in the city. You may be going to the city once a week because there isn’t a whole lot there; most of what you need is out of the city.
There are events for major holidays such as Christmas (Gift Day), Easter (Bunny Day), Thanksgiving (Harvest Festival) and New Year’s Day, as well as ones based on the day of the week. There’s a fishing tournament day, flea market day and on Saturdays at night as well.

This is a fun and relaxing game that you will find yourself coming back to again and again. You can set up your Wii Speak to this and chat with a friend while you play as well. Just register your friend and you are set to go! I am still in the mode of playing this game, so I will be posting more about it as time comes. You can buy this game at most retailers that sell Wii and Wii games, as well as on Amazon.com.
