I have read some ‘horror’ stories about BlogHer and thought to myself “What in the world?” I had a GREAT time. I finally was able to meet, face to face, my girls from MomDot. I think we are sisters separated at birth.
I met some awesome bloggers and some down to earth and amazing reps and companies. I was in heaven talking with each and every one of them.
Well, when you get 1200 women in the same ‘room’ together, there tends to be drama. No doubt there and honestly – I was expecting it. It just happened about a day earlier than I expected. There is a ‘rumor’ going around that I punched Kristin (A ordinarylife.com, ourordinary life.com ; whatever the link is this week) at BowlHer. I have to giggle because when I am being stalked, Amanda was being threatened, I asked this ‘so called person’ to please leave. I know how to count, so I believe I counted three times that I asked her to please leave. I was very nice. Too nice, actually. I have class, unlike she did. After the 3rd time that I asked her to walk away, keep the drama away, I called for security. In between security arriving, ‘she’ got up in my face (so close I could smell her beer breath. Barf.) yelled a lovely choice of words, hit then pushed me, so yes – I punched back. Self defense. Plain and simple. Kristin has literally stalked me and plagiarized blog posts from my website and turned around to tell me “Thank you! I just snagged your post. I didn’t know what to write. Mwah!” (which BTW is being investigated as I type) for well over 2 years; if not more. I have numerous print screens. Feel free to ask for those.
Here’s one. Click on it for a larger view:
By the way, she is a college student and has the worst spelling I have ever encountered in my life. It’s called spell check. Look in to it.
Also, before stories are started, there are numerous people, including PR reps, that witnessed the entire thing – so before people start blurting out words; be sure to get your facts straight.
Oh, and the drama doesn’t end there with Kristin. She treats her own sister like shit, then expects her to be forgiven. Why? Kristin’s excuse is “I’m an asshole.” Yes. She said it – not me. If she didn’t say it, I would. I have that email too. Feel free to ask for it. To tell you what a lovely person Kristin is, she bought Amanda her BlogHer ticket, then just a few weeks before BlogHer, Kristin changed the name on the ticket so Amanda didn’t have a ticket at all. Well, we got Amanda a ticket, but now that Kristin crapped on her own sister (AGAIN), Amanda didn’t have a room to stay in, so she split the room with me and another roommate. Sure sounds like a sister I would rely on for anything… NOT. Sure it may ‘sound’ like they ‘get along’, but guess what? It’s because Amanda is such a nice person and Kristin is basically the spawn of Satan and runs over people like they are doormats. She does this with her friends and family. The difference between me, is that I grew balls and I refuse to be treated with the disrespect that Kristin dishes out. You screw me over once, we can talk about it. You do it again, piss off.
Oh, and this wasn’t the first occasion where this person walked up to me just to start drama while at BlogHer. While we were at the Nikon party, Amanda and I were chatting and *poof* here Kristin comes, invading herself with her smirky face and cold attitude. ‘Uh. Yeah. I’m sorry and stuff’ (meaning for being who she is: Cold and rude to me for the last few years) Classy. Very classy.
My reply: “Sorry Kristin, but if this was your first apology, I might take it, but since this is about your 6th to me, you take it and shove it up your ass.’ Go ahead. Ask the witness that was there… Amanda. Yes, her sister. I turn around because I knew what was going to happen – drama, just like she wanted. I left before she could do what she started the next night (keep reading).
What did I learn from BlogHer? I learned a LOT! I have an entire post to make about that, once I return home.
I did learn how greedy people can be. There were people fighting and shoving over swag. Swag. Seriously. I will admit that I was giddy on a couple of swags that I ended up with, but for the most part, I was on a mission – running around like a mad woman trying to get steps for my Pedometer. I walked all weekend for charity and the winner of 5 bloggers gets $5000.00 towards their charity – so let’s just say that I was on a mission to walk and run everywhere. But seriously, swag? I never saw so many people excited to get a pen or a stuffed animal. It was seriously congested and annoying to see this behavior from grown women.
I also learned how giving people can be. I ended up with some good swag, but if you read on Twitter, I asked that anyone who had any extra swag, to bring it to my room before Sunday. They did!! I had great response from it! I am donating an entire van to 2 women’s & children’s shelters and to 2 day cares. Everything is separated and is being delivered on Thursday!
OK So I got off topic there, but here is a tip for you all. Do not ever lose touch with who you are as an individual. Do not let anyone run over you, realize the importance of yourself, your true friends and your true family. When you *meet* someone online, they may not be the same person in real life. I can vouch for this because this person is nothing like she is, online. Who, at 32 weeks PREGNANT, sits down and guzzles 3 large glasses of wine in a matter of an hour? No one else that I know. Now that is classic. And yes, I saw this with my own eyes – as well as about 5 other bloggers in the hallway at the Hallmark Summit in KS. I am almost sure someone got a picture of this…. Oh, and let’s talk about scams…. If you work with her, be leary. Better yet, run.
I have been stalked online and now in person, for over 3 years. She has plagiarized my website, stolen content to claim as her own for 2 years now, if not more. I have been harassed online for 3 years. I feel threatened by this psycho. I do not know what she is capable of, nor do I want to find out. When will the stalking, harassment and the plagiarism end? I am so sick of being stalked online and now that its turned to real life, should I file a police report to protect my family? I have done it once. I will do it again.
