It seems like the kids were just getting out of school and here it is, back to school season – already! If there’s one thing that the kids love, its books! Candlwick Press has so many books, for just about anyone!
One book that we recieved was Maisy Goes to School.
The kids love this book! I love that it is small and can be carried just about anywhere, as well as when you open the book, there are fun things to do like make Maisy dance (pull the tabs and watch her go!), raise flaps to see what Maisy painted, Maisy adds and subtracts and so much more. Fun in a tiny package!
Terrific size for little backpacks!
School’s in session and it’s time for Maisy — and her readers — to have fun. As they watch Maisy spend an eventful day at school, little ones can pull the tabs and lift the flaps to help Maisy paint some pictures, write a story, add and subtract, and even dance like a ballerina. Toddlers who are crazy for Maisy will love going to school with their favorite mouse!
This classic Maisy novelty book is now small enough for her many fans to take along to school or anywhere!

Another book that I found to be a lot of fun to read to the kids, as well as fun to look at is Cornelius P. Mud, Are You Ready for School?. The illustrations in this book are so cute! There are not many words in the book, but the illustrations speak so much!
It’s time for school. Is Cornelius P. Mud up? Sure he is! The plucky pig has even made his bed, put on his clothes, and eaten his breakfast. But with Cornelius, things are never quite as they seem. Despite his clowning around, Cornelius does make his way through his morning routine and out to the bus stop — where readers are in for a big surprise! Barney Saltzberg is back with a second comical story about a single-mindedly silly pig.
Kids who aim to do things their way — and what child doesn’t? — will squeal with pleasure at Cornelius’s merry morning mayhem.

Thanks for the review… I always loved books that had flaps or pulls that made things move when I was little, so looked for them for my kids. And I think Cornelius P. Mud is the cutes little pig in the world. Thanks for sharing.
