Goodbye Toilet Brush, Hello Clorox ToiletWand! *Review & Giveaway* (Closed)

by Tanya on October 11, 2009

in Closed Contests, Product Reviews, VadoHD, Video Reviews (Vlog)

How many of you can relate to this?

toilet brush

I dread cleaning the bathroom, especially the toilet. Who likes this job anyway? Well, I can tell you that I utterly despised this job until I was introduced to the Clorox ToiletWand. Are you serious? (yes, I know you are asking me) We have had the ‘typical’ toilet brush with basin that you can buy at any store, but you know what? I am a germaphobe. Just the thought of having a toilet brush that is gross and mucky.. Uh, sooo not cool in a house with kids. I have never used a Clorox ToiletWand, that is – until this week.

Leave it to me to video it, huh?

We have really old pipes in our home (1900 home) that we are looking to have replaced, so we have to clean our toilets and sinks more often than a newer home normally would. Normally, I would use a bottle of chemicals and a nasty toilet brush, but after using the (all in one) Clorox ToiletWand, I am so excited to see that I have everything that I need – all in one! How easy is this? Use and toss, literally. Oh, and affordable!

clorox toiletwand

If you are like me and fed UP with the nasty toilet brush in your bathroom, then I highly recommend the Clorox ToiletWand. I loved how easy the initial set up was. What is included in the box?

  • ToiletWand Handle
  • 6 Clorox Disinfecting ToiletWand refills
  • 1 ToiletWand storage caddy

What do you do? Let’s see – open the box, put the tiny wand carrier part on the bigger piece and Walah – all you have to do is put the wand on the Clorox refill, clean your toilet, trash the cleaner part, and Walah – the wand stores on the storage caddy for future use. What? No germs for the next time? Nope!

I hate my toilet brush. I don’t even like touching the handle because I always envision little germies crawling up it (okay….I have a vivid imagination.) I’d love to toss it and try one of these disposable ones. Thanks.

25 Jessica F October 25, 2009 at 7:14 am

It creeps me out how many germs are in the old style brush/cup combo. I always keep the doors closed so that my little one doesn’t go in there and try to play with it AGAIN.

The thought of that toilet brush sitting in its holder growing bacteria always grossed me out. Love that I can swish, scrub and toss these!

31 Danica D. October 24, 2009 at 8:45 pm

We actually used the toilet wand before we made a cross country move. Right now, were still settling in and using a regular brush. It feels so nasty and would really love to go back to using the toilet wand.

49 Erin R. October 22, 2009 at 12:43 am

I hate toilet brushes. They just sit there covered in germs. I remember in a college psych class the professor brought in a brand new toilet brush and stirred a bowl of punch with it. Even though the brush was clean, no one would drink the punch b/c of the strong association with yuck!

50 Tamara B. October 21, 2009 at 11:26 pm

The toilet brush is the one item in the bathrooms that I do not like to store. I don’t even want to know what is on them.

Actually last year I bought an European style toilet brush the I like but this might be better. Please accept my entry. Thank you.

I think my toilet brush needs its own brush to clean it. And the rust – oh my! Hubby won’t touch it so it is always my job to clean the loos – no fun!

Ew! How to keep the toilet brush clean? I don’t bother. I throw mine out regularly and replace it. This looks like a much better option.

I have to admit that the toilet is the worse thing I hate to clean but I need to clean it all the time! We have been using disposable brushes but this sounds like it would work well!

152 Linda F October 11, 2009 at 6:53 pm

I am ready to give up my yucky toilet brush.

153 Nikkie Kluesner October 11, 2009 at 6:22 pm

This would be great to have! my daughter loves helping clean the toliets but I don’t like to let her help because of the nasty chemicals and toliet brush! This would allow her to help!

Our toilet brush is beyond nasty! I replace them (2) every few months because it just grosses me out. I would love to throw away those nasty germs immediately after cleaning the toilet. Thanks for the great giveaway!

156 vicky October 11, 2009 at 5:26 pm

oh it is so gross. I have bleached it so many times. I still feel like it has all those nasty germs on it.

I’d definitely not loving my toilet brush and if this does what it says I’d LOVE to try it.

I hate cleaning the toilets also. I dread the days I need to. I hate the brush also. I’d be glad to get rid of it and use this one.

163 Linda White October 11, 2009 at 3:56 pm

yes its nasty! The bristles are bent and squashed and dont really do any good! Its smelly and rusty and gross!

164 Rosie October 11, 2009 at 3:45 pm

Toilet brushes are gross. I hate even having to pick it up. It must be filled with germs and the water that gets carried over from the toilet into the toilet brush container is just nasty.

165 carol October 11, 2009 at 3:18 pm

I just twittered the giveaway.

166 carol October 11, 2009 at 3:15 pm

I’d love to chuck my old toilet brush! It must be very unsanitary to use the same brush over and over. I’d love to win!

168 Jenna October 11, 2009 at 2:34 pm

My toilet brush just doesn’t do it! It drives me nuts when I scrub and scrub and I get nowhere! I think if I was to win, I’d throw my toilet brush away as well!

169 Siobhan October 11, 2009 at 12:14 pm

This is a very sanitary way of cleaning the toilet. The old-fashioned brushes are just brushes – no cleaner attached and no disposable head.

We actually don’t have a toilet brush, I resort to rubber gloves and an old sponge…yeah, how nasty is that.

173 Lynne October 11, 2009 at 11:40 am

I am definitely fed up with my toilet brush. After only a few uses it’s covered with the filth from the bowl. Plus I hate the fact that I have to leave it out where my cats can come in contact with it.

174 Pat October 11, 2009 at 11:11 am

I join you in revulsion of old toilet brushes. Like you I live in an older home. First thing after everyone goes to work/school (and before I go to work) I flush the toilets and scrub them thoroughly. Every few months I change my toilet brushes but it doesn’t take long for them to look–well, you know.

Thank you for the contest.

I hate our toilet brush! My 5-year-old is always curious in the bathroom and once I was on the phone when he went to pee. After I hung up, I went to see what was taking him so long, and he was using the toilet brush to “clean” the walls of the bathroom! EWWWWWW!
