Summer is here… and in full force! Our weather is simply gorgeous, so we are taking full advantage of it every chance we get. We are on a budget, just like a lot of you are, so we are always on the lookout for activities that my kids like, for things that will continue to spark their minds and for items that are priced nicely to where we don’t mind buying.
This summer, Crayola is encouraging children to let their imaginations run wild with a nationwide wellness campaign called the “Crayola Outdoor Challenge.” The initiative is aimed at inspiring families to spend more time outside exercising their bodies and minds.
I am all about keeping my kids fit and active. To coincide with National Physical Fitness & Sports Month, Crayola is asking families to take the “Crayola Outdoor Challenge” and pledge time each day this summer to outdoor creative play – which can reduce stress, build confidence and reinforce creative thinking skills. The national goal is to reach one million hours of pledged outdoor play time. All throughout Summer, parents can take the pledge at Crayola.com and find dozens of outdoor games and activities that keep kids’ imaginations and bodies active.
Getting creative outdoors lets kids make their own fun and when their imaginations are involved, the fun is endless. To provide families with even more ways to get outside and have fun, Crayola has introduced new additions to its line of outdoor products. In these challenging economic times, Crayola’s outdoor products provide parents with an inexpensive way to keep their kids entertained and active this summer.
Now that we HAVE a driveway and a sidewalk, I can surely appreciate the new and FUN Sidewalk Crayons! Kambry is 18 months old and she loves these! Tucker is 3 ½ and has a blast! This next one, I have to admit that I saw this on TV just this week and really was excited about it! Yes, moms will love to play with their kids with this one! Kids can watch their art come to life with the 3D Jungle Safari Activity Set. Create a jungle safari, put on the 3D glasses and kids will feel like they are in the jungle! The set includes 1 bottle of sidewalk paint (7 fl. oz.), a paint brush, 1 pair of 3D glasses, 8 dual-ended sidewalk chalk sticks, 4 giant stencils and 1 how-to book. I took the challenge! I babysit my 13 month old granddaughter everyday so I am always thinking of new activities. I take her to the park, we go swimming in our backyard pool, go for walks around the neighbourhood in her cozy coupe to name a few.

Thanks for the giveaway! My nieces who are 6 and 9 would be thrilled if I won this. Our outdoor activities are lots of swimming living here in hot, humid Florida. We love to go to the beach, swim at my brother’s pool, we like to going fishing as well. When we can afford it which is not that often lately..lol, we like to go to Disney or Busch Gardens which is awesome. Have a nice evening!

I took the pledge. I take my grandkids to the park almost every day so they can run and play. Its hard enough having to live with grandma I sure don’t want them bored or idle. They would play outside all day and night if I let them. They love riding their little scooters at least they did until someone took my grandsons right from our backyard. Thank you!

We made a road on the driveway with the sidewalk chalk and the boys rode their bikes on the road. They also love to play baseball and catch and play on the swingset.

We love to have picinic’s in the park. It is very special time and just watching the kids eat with a smile on their faces with anticipation to finish and play is my favorite.

We love to spend time in the pool – where my daughter’s new favorite game is a form of beachball volleyball in the pool. We take walks & bike rides around the neighborhood, and spend time at our local Y pool too. And the beach as well!

What a great pledge. I love that they have activity ideas on their website:o) We have a fantastic park behind our house; therefore, being that we don’t have our yard finished (yet), we go to the park…alot! Sometimes we go two to three times a day. My kids also love having water fights and playing in the sand box (with Crayola’s colored sand of course)!

When we do play outside we love our little swimming pool and our slip and slide. We love walking to the park and playing on the playground there. And yes, they both love their sidewalk chalk!

At least every other day we go to the park and ride the bike trails and use the outdoor gym equipment. It is fun!
We have taken the the challenge and having been doing it for about three weeks. We are swimming, I’m walking the dog around the lake while they rollerblade, playing capture the flag with the whole neighborhood, and riding our bikes. I’ve even lost some weight and I plan to continue.
