We live in an older home where our pipes aren’t the best. We pretty much do anything we can to avoid drinking tap water. I drink a lot of water. A lot! We all do really. With our cold weather we have been making a lot of hot chocolate and I drink Chai. With this, comes the need for clean filtered water. I have had the pleasure to have a Cuisinart CleanWater Countertop Filtration System in my kitchen. Right out of the box, I feared it might be ‘too big’ for our small kitchen and lack of space on our countertops. Once I got it unpacked and hooked up, I was more than impressed with the overall appearance of the Cuisinart CleanWater Countertop Filtration System. It is gorgeous and really doesn’t take up that much space.

Water is one of the most important aspects of a healthy lifestyle, though these days consumers must be increasingly vigilant about the water they consume. Ubiquitous chemicals called phthalates can be found in nearly every American’s body, and are present in a bevy of consumer products, including plastic water bottles. These chemicals can pose serious threats to consumers’ health*, and one way of avoiding contact with them is to filter water at home, eliminating the need for bottled water altogether.
Cuisinart is introducing an affordable and convenient means of providing healthier, filtered water for the entire family, without relying on bottles. The Cuisinart® CleanWater® Countertop Filtration System is available in a 2-gallon capacity unit (model no. WCH-1500) that comes with two fast flow spigots for dispensing hot, cold or room-temperature filtered water, as well as an Energy Saver mode that cuts energy use by 50 percent when the function is engaged.
What to Look for When Purchasing a Countertop Filtration System:
Convenience:
Cuisinart’s new countertop water filtration unit is ideal for parents who are looking to uphold healthy living practices for themselves and their children, without compromising taste. “The health and well being of our consumers is paramount at Cuisinart,” says Mary Rodgers, Director of Marketing Communications for the company. “The CleanWater® Countertop Filtration System provides consumers with safer, cleaner and fresher-tasting water while offering a myriad of other benefits as well, such as a small footprint and food preparation capabilities.” She explains that the filtration system can be used to mix a bottle of baby formula, or to prepare soup, hot chocolate or instant oatmeal. What’s more, the unit is curved in the front so that a pot or pan can be placed directly below the fast flow spigots to cook rice and even prepare pasta.
Previously, water filtration systems were either sink-mounted, pitcher-style or free-standing; Cuisinart’s unit is the first of its kind. Unlike free-standing filtration systems that use large and cumbersome containers of water and take up significant floor space, Cuisinart’s compact filtration system sits directly on the counter.
Consumers no longer have to buy heavy cases of bottled water or large water bottles at the store, nor do they need to take up space in the refrigerator or ruin the aesthetic of their sink. Additionally, the filtration system utilizes thermoelectricity instead of a compressor to cool and heat the water. Cuisinart’s unit does not have a compressor, so it is extremely quiet and quickly dispenses clean and refreshing water at hot (194 °F), cold (44 °F) or room temperatures.
The unit also has red/blue LED indicators that light up when the water has reached hot/cold temperatures, and a green LED indicator that signifies that the unit is in Energy Saver mode. The Energy Saver switch can be used to turn off the heater when hot water is not needed to reduce the system’s energy usage by more than 50 percent.
Performance:
One of the signature benefits of the Cuisinart filtration system is that the unit’s GF-80 filter significantly reduces contaminants such as lead, mercury and copper, as well as the taste and odor of chlorine. The filter has a life of three months for average household use and is certified by the Water Quality Association.
The brushed stainless steel housing of the Cuisinart CleanWater® Countertop Filtration System makes it an attractive addition to any countertop.
Cuisinart is supporting the new water filtration unit with an extensive marketing campaign, including a dedicated website, www.cuisinartcleanwater.com, which serves as a product and information resource. The site has numerous features that educate consumers on all the aspects of water and water consumption, reinforcing the importance of drinking filtered water for the health and well-being of the entire family.
Cuisinart’s WCH-1500 filtration system will be joined by a 1.5-gallon capacity unit (WCH-1000) in October that dispenses cold or room temperature water from a single fast flow spigot. The filtration system also has other signature product features from Cuisinart, such as thermoelectricity and a GF-80 filter that significantly reduces contaminants.

Here is a video to show you what it looks like and how I set it up. So easy!
With the amount of water we go through in a day, from cooking, drinking hot tea and cold water, the 2 gallon size is perfect for our family! The stainless steel look is gorgeous and looking at it on my kitchen counter, it really blends in with everything.
When I first set up the Cuisinart CleanWater Countertop Filtration System, the taste of the water was a little ‘metallic tasting’, so I filtered an entire 2 gallons of water through it to get the ‘new machine’ taste out of it. We keep this on all day. I love having fresh, filtered hot water ready at any time we want it. Now, I am looking forward to Winter time. I will have my hot water any time I need it for my Chai and Hot Chocolate.
