For those that know me, know that I love making things, including walls in my house. Well, last week, I bought a new treadmill, and while I like everything about it, the one thing that it didn’t have was a place to hold my iPad. I like to read, watch a movie, or even type out thoughts while I walk or jog. I looked online and while there are a lot of options for a stand for your iPad for your treadmill, I am impatient and decided to find things around the house and make my own.
Yes, I did it and it works.
Cost: $0.00.

See that? Wondering what it is? *evil laugh*
I found a 3 ring binder that I wasn’t using, so I decided to try something. I used wire cutters and pulled the 3 ring spine out, folded the binder back and added 2 removable sticky’s on it, which I may replace with 3M Velcro tabs. With the 3 ring binder having the plastic outer sleeve, this is perfect to slide the iPad in and you can still use the touchscreen.

Want to see that again?
While this may be a bit redneck’ish, hey – it works, it is decent to look at and it was free. Oh, and no duct tape was involved.

Great idea! I’m in India for a while and I’ve been looking for a quick DIY way to make this happen and this is perfect.

Love your creative idea of the iPad holder and saving money at the same time! If you have difficulty finding a binder with plastic to serve as a holder use a headband for the top and bottom to hold it into place.

Thank you!
I was searching online and I was like ‘I don’t want to pay $40 for a piece of plastic!’ So I looked around and came up with this. LOL
