#DIY Where’s Waldo & Wanda costumes

We’ve been on the go so much lately that I’ve been taking time from road trips to do some research on how we can make our own Where’s Waldo & Wanda costumes because I refused to pay $40 per shirt at the costume stores. Super easy to make.

Start by taping stripes on the shirts, including the sleeves.

I didn’t tape up the sleeves at first, I tucked them behind when I started spraying. Piece of advice – make sure all your taping is done in the beginning otherwise it’ll be a lot more time consuming.

I did the sleeves last, and my basement ended up looking like a crime scene. I started outside but ended up taking it all downstairs because it started to rain.

I found the hats and glasses at a local Halloween store for less than $10 for all four pieces and a denim skirt at Goodwill for $3.

Total cost for two costumes:

$28.00

Breakdown of cost:

  • White long sleeve shirts: $6 ($3/each)
  • Masking tape: $3
  • 1 can of spray paint: $4
  • 2 Waldo hats & 2 glasses: $10 total
  • Denim skirt for Wanda’s costume: $3
  • Red & white striped socks for Wanda’s costume: $2 on eBay

In the end, I’m very happy with how they turned out!
