in Closed Contests, DVD Reviews, Product Reviews

Oh my gosh! My kids are MEGA Dora and Diego fans! Do you have the kids in the house that walk around saying “DaDaDa Doooora”? Every day, the kids beg to watch one, the other or both! I, as a parent, love both characters because my kids really DO learn a lot from them.

There are two DVD’s that will be debuting this month:

  • Go, Diego, Go!: Diego’s Arctic Rescue
  • Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom

51-KYdcANpL__SL500_AA240_Diego is on a mission and this time it’s taking him to new heights – and temperatures! In the newest DVD release, Go, Diego, Go!: Diego’s Arctic Rescue, Diego embarks on the journey of a lifetime to save the baby polar bear in the all-new includes a feature-length adventure. The DVD also includes two bonus episodes preschool series, as well as a “Diego’s Animal Adventures” featurette. Created by Nickelodeon Home Entertainment and distributed by Paramount Home Entertainment, Diego’s Arctic Rescue will be available on September 15th for the suggested retail price of $16.99. It will debut on DVD prior to its TV premiere on Nickelodeon on September 18th at 10:00 am ET/PT.

In the never-before-seen musical episode, “The Great Polar Bear Rescue!,” Diego and Baby Jaguar are visiting the Arctic Wildlife Center when they hear a cry for help. The polar bears have become separated from their other Arctic friends on an island, and Diego travel through snowstorms with Helicoptero to help rescue them.

Additionally, Diego’s Arctic Rescue will be included in an all-new 3-disc Diego box set, Go, Diego, Go!: Diego’s Mega Missions, which also will be available on September 15, 2009. The set will also feature Diego’s Safari Rescue and Diego’s Moonlight Rescue, and will be available for a suggested retail price of $42.99.

Go, Diego, Go!: Diego’s Arctic Rescue Fast Facts

  • Street Date: September 15, 2009
  • DVD SRP: $16.99
  • DVD Running Time: Approximately 98 minutes

DVD Bonus Material includes Diego’s Animal Adventures:

  • Diego Saves Grandpa Walrus
  • Free Snowy Owl
  • Icy River Rescue

In each episode, Diego (Jake T. Austin) receives a call for help at his Animal Rescue Center in the rainforest. With help from his friends, high-tech gadgets and viewers at home, Diego identifies and locates the animal in trouble and the adventure begins. Diego is joined by his 11-year-old sister Alicia (Constanza Sperakis), a computer whiz who is also bilingual and easily switches between speaking English and Spanish. Baby Jaguar is the animal closest to Diego’s heart, and his youthful eagerness sometimes puts him in precarious situations. Other characters include Click (Rosie Perez), a high-tech camera with a knack for locating lost animals; Rescue Pack, a messenger bag that can transform into any form of transportation that Diego needs, like a boat, snowboard or parasail; and the Bobo Brothers, a mischievous pair of spider monkeys. Diego’s cousin Dora also makes guest appearances in the series.

When I heard that Dora had a new movie coming out, I think I was more stoked than the kids were. This is a magical movie that we watched in the van, on the road this weekend and it is truly a cute movie! The overall story was cute as can be!

51yWbQ2UOOL__SL500_AA240_Enter the magical, musical world of the Crystal Kingdom in the all-new Nickelodeon feature-length adventure Dora the Explorer: Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom. In Dora Saves the Crystal Kingdom, Dora continues her magical storybook adventure from last fall (“Dora Saves the Snow Princess”), when the magic crystal that the Snow Princess gave her brings to life another character in her storybook – Allie of the Crystal Kingdom. A greedy king has stolen the crystals that give Allie’s kingdom color. Dora and Boots must help Allie locate the crystals and turn the pale gray kingdom back into a colorful wonderland before it’s too late.
