Night time potty training with One Step Ahead’s Dri Nights Bedwetter Pants

I do have to say that Potty training Tucker was better than I had expected. Kambry will soon be getting ready, herself, but right now, we are still in the process of working on night time potty training with Tucker. Disposable night time pants get so expensive and he is getting to that age where he refers to them as ‘diapers’, but still had night time accidents. I had the opportunity to try out some night time potty training products from One Step Ahead and we really like the Dri Nights Bedwetter Pants. These night time pants are like very thick cotton with a very thick liner to help prevent leaks during the night. At first Tucker wouldn’t put on the Dri Nights Bedwetter Pants because he said they looked like Kambry’s cloth diapers. While they do resemble her cloth diapers, Tucker’s night time pants are more like regular underwear; just thicker.

More than 5 million kids struggle with bedwetting…isn’t it time for an alternative to bulky, uncomfortable pull-ons (not to mention expensive disposables)? Our design team performed months of research to bring you these remarkably soft, leak-resistant cloth pants. Very slim, and more absorbent than anything we’ve tested, so self-esteem really soars. Non-chafing; the cotton lining keeps skin dry and comfortable (moisture is drawn away from surface, into an absorbent terrycloth core). With a waterproof shell. For daytime protection, see our Dri Days Training Pants (#12738). Machine wash. Imported. Exclusively Ours!

  • An economical, environmentally-friendly alternative to disposables
  • Carefully designed for maximum absorbency, without bulk:
  • Lining: moisture-wicking cotton mesh that drives wetness into the absorbent center
  • Middle layers: 3 layers of soft, absorbent cotton terry
  • Outer shell: soft nylon with a rubberized, waterproof inner coating
  • Sized for a perfect, comfortable fit, with elasticized waist and stretchy legs

The sizing was very easy to figure out. Tucker is right around 36 pounds at 3 ½ years old, so we chose the blue Dri Nights Bedwetter Pants in a size 4T. It looks like he will be able to use them for quite a while.

After several night time uses and washes in the washer then tossed in the dryer the hold up of the material is very nice. I feared they would bunch up or wear after use, but they proved me wrong. We are going to be ordering a couple more pairs to help get us through the night time potty training phase. Night time leaks were a big problem with Tucker with the disposable night time products, but with the Dri Nights Bedwetter Pants, leaks are not an issue. They hold up very nicely and in fact, they do seem to help remind Tucker to get up to go potty when he has to at night.

My 3 year old also has the night time potty problems. She sleeps so hard she doesn’t wake up! Do these help Tucker wake up when he goes, or are they just an alternative to diapers?
I’d love to find something that would wake my daughter up. My brother was a bed wetter (till almost middle school, poor guy!) and I remember he had something that would beep when he’d start to go and it would wake him up. I keep thinking I need to look into something, but our pediatrician says that night time bed wetting is very normal for even kids a few years older, so not to worry yet.
