Small town living… gotta love it, right? It took a while for us to adjust to it, but we are madly in love with it. There’s not a whole lot to do here, so we usually have to drive a good hour to get to a location that has a variety of things to do. Recently, I came across an old miniature golf course near our house that’s open to the public.. and it’s free! We decided to have a family fun day with miniature golf, grabbed a movie from Redbox, then we came home and set up several games in the living room with Jack’s Pizza and a movie and we had a carpet picnic. So much fun! We were have an entire family date fun day for less than $10 for our family of 4, including Jack’s Pizza.
It’s crazy how many free or low priced things there are to do locally when you drive around and look. I’d suggest driving around and looking to see what you have near you, or even within walking distance front your house.
I mean – for real! Check out this miniature golf course that we found… and it’s free!
After playing miniature golf, we rented some movies, came home and the kids set up what we like to call a ‘carpet picnic’. The kids love doing this! We will set up a blanket in the living room floor, turn a movie on, make Jack’s Pizza and we all eat and play games while on the blanket in the living room.
We all love Jack’s Pizza. There’s not a kind that we don’t like. My youngest likes plain cheese, so we will buy a pepperoni or a Canadian bacon and pull half of the toppings to one half so it’s a half and half. They make half cheese/half pepperoni pizzas, but this is how we like to do it.
This is a great relaxing way for our family to spend time together. The littles do get a bit competitive though. LOL As long as we’re all together, that’s all that matters.
What do you and your family like to do together? Make it a ‘staycation’ with family fun games and Jack’s Pizza. It’s so much fun and such precious memories made.
