My aunt has been visiting since Wednesday. It has been a great visit and one that’s been a long time coming. We haven’t seen each other in 13 years. 13 years. We reconnected on Facebook recently and have been chatting, texting, etc… and she had some airline miles that were about to expire, so we connected heads together and she flew to see us Wednesday and is heading home soon. It’s been an amazing visit – so much catching up was done and we even reconnected. While we were at lunch, just before heading to my house, she handed me this watch.

This watch was my grandmother’s, her mother. She passed away a few years ago and I didn’t know about it for a few years after the fact. Our family was spread apart all over the place, not everyone knew how to get in touch with others… so on. I loved my Nan! This watch belonged to her and when my aunt gave me this watch, I teared up. I have a small piece of my Nan to always remember her by. Not a day has gone by that I haven’t thought about her. Thank you auntie! I will treasure Nan’s watch always!

How special that you got that watch! So sentimental! I got a watch of my grandma’s when she died…I will treasure it forever!

That is awesome tanya!!! Unfortunately my fathers wife would not let us have anything of my father, although I did manage to get away with some stuff. It is hard for the people left behind not to have anything from those who have passed on, and it is very very special when we are able to have something to physically hold on to. *hugs and smooches*
