I took the test with FINISH Quantum & JET-DRY TURBO DRY *Review & Giveaway*

Is it weird that I giggle every time I have to load or unload the dishwasher? Not at all. Not when I have never had a dishwasher before, so this is beyond exciting for me! We have been doing some kitchen updates, so now, I finally like my kitchen! Now that I have a dishwasher, I was excited when I was approached to check out the latest product from FINISH (the new name for Electrasol) that no household should be without! FINISH Quantum is an automatic, pre-measured, and wrapper free dishwashing detergent with 3 powerful active ingredients and innovative technology that delivers amazing shine and brilliant results.

finish-pack-shot-lo-res

When I first tried it, it really didn’t work for me. Well, I think I probably didn’t use it correctly and the detergent door didn’t open for some reason. Hey, I am a ‘first timer’ using a dishwasher.  Well, I tried it again and it worked like a charm! My dishes came out sparkly clean!

jd_turboIt was really neat having to use this, instead of toting out the dishwashing liquid, pour, close lid, put the liquid back under the sink – then to repeat over the next time. FINISH Quantum is literally a one step process.

I also got to check out JET-DRY Turbo Dry. This is truly a MIRACLE product, I tell ya! This dries dishes right out of the dishwasher, so no more towel-drying! I tried a few loads of dishes without JET-DRY and I was surprised once I did use it. It was so cool! My dishes came out dry. Completely dry!

By using the right dishwashing product and following these simple tips, consumers can save on water, energy and dishwashing product, while still getting perfect results the first time they wash.

  • Don’t Wash by Hand: It is more expensive to wash dishes by hand than to properly run them in a dishwasher. Also, a dishwasher’s water temperature generally reaches over 120º, which is best for removing grease and stuck-on food.
  • Run Tap Water First: For sparkling clean dishes, run your kitchen’s hot water tap before starting the dishwasher to make sure the water entering the machine has reached its highest temperature.
  • Scrape, Don’t Rinse: Scrape your dishes because the enzymes in your detergent that soften burnt-on food need to cling to protein/starch, such as egg and oatmeal, in order to work properly.
  • Load Properly: Cups, glasses and less soiled items should be placed on the top rack. Generally, larger and dirtier items are best on the bottom rack.
  • Select the Right Detergent: Detergent is typically made with two main ingredients, bleach and enzymes. Bleach and enzymes lessen the effectiveness of each other but FINISH Quantum’s technology keeps them separated and releases them when needed in the dishwashing cycle for a superior clean.
  • Avoid Wet Dishes: The #1 complaint concerning dishwashers is that dishes do not come out dry. Use a drying agent in your dishwasher’s rinse aid dispenser, such as JET-DRY TURBO DRY™, to solve that problem and unload the dishwasher faster.

I do all the dishes in my house because I get a satisfaction from cleaning. I just put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run it when it’s full. Anything that doesn’t go in the dishwasher is washed and put away immediately because I hate seeing stuff piling up in the sink.

  18. 88
    Ann says:

I tend to do the dishes immediately after eating because it will drive me nuts to see them stacked on the counter. Also, my husband eats when he gets home from work at night so I have to get right at his dishes in the morning when I wake up before I have a melt down. (No amount of grumbling and nagging seems to get him to load his own dishes in the dishwasher. What’s up with that?)

I don’t have a fave dish detergent yet because I haven’t found that perfect solution. Perhaps this is it?

I can’t stand to see dishes sitting in the sink unless they are soaking before cleaning/or being put in the dishwasher. If I am making a big meal and using a lot of dishes and utensils I clean/put them in the dishwasher when I am done with the item. After eating all dishes, utensils, flatware are rinsed and put in the dishwasher. I only do full loads of dishes, so the dishwasher runs 1-2 times a week.

Every time that there is a dirty dish, I rinse it immediately and put it in the dishwasher. I learned this from my grandmother, whose kitchen was always clean, and it inspired me. I am the only one who does dishes because I am a stay-at-home mom and the domestic work is my job, and my husband supports the family which is his job. Having said that, I have been blessed with a husband who doesn’t care if the house is clean or not, so I could let things pile up for days if I wanted to with no worries.

The routine is simple. When the children/grandchildren are over, they pick up their own dishes and put them in the dishwasher (or stack them in the sink if the dishwasher is either full or running). I unload and clean up the counters, etc. Occasionally one of them wants to cook something, so they are then responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Doesn’t alway work right, but at least they are getting the idea!
