We live in a 1900 home. We have no closet space, the storage is lacking in the house, so we have to use what we have and make the best of it. Well, I am about to make the best of it alright.
Pardon the clutter 😆 but today is the last day my kitchen will look like this.
And YES, I am very detailed. Can you tell? See the pantry area behind the fridge? That used to be a PORCH at one time. There is a door on the far right that I screwed shut, and added a small shelf for misc. items.
The wall behind my fridge is being torn down and where my pantry is, the fridge will be moved all the way back in to the pantry area to open up my kitchen. On the far right, I will be putting in cabinets & a countertop. While we won’t have a ‘pantry’ anymore, the cabinets will make up for that. Here’s our current pantry. Pardon the mega mess. I just got back from the grocery store & I always unload food in boxes, in to Tupperware modular containers.
Hoping to have that dining room wall is a stable wall so I can put upper cabinets, otherwise, there will be a tall pantry added next to the fridge, then cabinets & countertop will be on the right. I hate having everything out in the open & that shelf on the right where my crock-pot is, will be moved to the dining room.
The bar table on the left is a workbench that we bought at Sam’s Club. Love it! We use it as a table for the kids to eat at.
The contractor will be here in the morning to remove that wall behind the fridge and to add a support beam. I can’t do it myself because I really don’t want to take a support beam out that will cause my second floor to cave in on us. LOL Once they take that wall out and add a support beam, I can get started painting and building my new pantry space, cabinets & counter work space.
Goodbye clutter, hello workable space!
