Fun Halloween Costumes from Halloween Express

What are your kids going to be for Halloween? Some people haven’t even thought about it yet, but I have been thinking about Halloween costumes since at before summer started.

I keep telling hubby that we need to dress up as a couple when we take the kids trick or treating. I am still trying to convince him that it will be fun! I saw some of the coolest costumes on Halloween Express that are great ideas for us, and any adult out there. I would love the Adams Family, but I would be scared that it might freak the kids out. LOL!

The kids are going as Dorothy & the Tinman from Wizard of Oz. I would love it if hubby and I could go as the scarecrow (hubby) and me as Glinda Good Witch.

I haven’t dressed up for Halloween since I was a kid. The last time that I remember vividly was when mom spray painted my hair silver. SILVER. She made me in to an old lady. I was the youngest old lady ever. As I recall, it took a good week to get that stuff out of my hair.

Yes. That is me and my brother. I am still so embarrassed at that picture, but HEY – think of it this way: Costumes are fun and affordable – and you don’t have to torture your kids with (literally) spray paint and make them tote around a heavy crochet basket around town. It might have been groovy in the early 80′s, but I don’t know that I have ever seen dress up like this. I mean – come on. My brother had a margarita garter around his leg. FYI: My glasses were real – just no lenses in them, but my brother’s were painted on. Ha!

While I am talking about Halloween, I wanted to tell you my thoughts on dressing up. Do you have kids that love to play dress up? I do! Allowing your kids to play dress up helps spark their imagination and lets them enjoy their time as a kid. It doesn’t have to be Halloween to enjoy a fun costume.
