Your Southern Pican Pie is great! Now, if only you could get the maker of your packaging to figure out a way to prevent crumbled crusts caused by the pie sliding around in the box. With a pie that has to be baked it is sometimes possible to patch up the broken crust but that is not possible with a pre-baked crust. There must be a way to either prevent the pie from moving around (sticky glue on the bottom?) or to create a protective rim that covers the fluted crust. I had about 4″ of broken crust when I opened the package for a pre-holiday dinner with guests. Fortunately my husband spoke up for the piece with the broken crust. Surely there must be someone with a creative mind that can solve this dilemna.
I will purchase the Pecan Pie again and hope for an unbroken crust next time.
