Off Powerpad Lamp and Lantern *Review & Giveaway*

nav_logoWe spend a lot of time out on our deck. It’s our ‘getaway’. The one thing that annoys me while sitting outside, is bugs. I think I attract any and all types of bugs. Oh, here’s Tanya – ‘let’s go bite her’. I am very excited to share with you the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and Lantern. I love this! No more spraying yourself down with spray, just light the lamp and enjoy your bite-free time!

  • The OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and Lantern provide powerful mosquito protection with a pleasant, warm glow for outdoor parties. The products repel mosquitoes, including those that may carry the West Nile Virus. Heat-activated pads deter mosquitoes from an area up to 225 square feet, about the size of an average deck or patio.

We used to use citronella buckets, but they seemed to attract even more bugs, and not to mention they are bulky and not the cutest things in the world. I love the OFF!® PowerPad® Lamp and Lantern because it blends in with our décor, it is affordable and the 225 square feet coverage is awesome! How does it work? You light the candle inside the adorable lantern and the heat from the flame flares triggers the Off pad that is on top of the lantern.

lamp_lantern

Do I like it? Yes I do! In fact, I love it! I have already recommended it to friends locally that have cook outs. Great product and it won’t break the bank either. Each runs around $9.99.

This post was written for Family Review Network as part of a program by SC Johnson, who also supplied the product for review and giveaway.

The Off prize could make our family outdoor fun more enjoyable. We have a cement patio that never gets used because we hate bugs, the lantern looks not only great for summer patios but could be a way to enjoy outdoor fun. Cookouts could be enjoyed, yard games could be played, yard work and so much more can happen with the Off prize if I won.

Living in central Florida, we are now in the rainy season and have LOTS of standing water, so the mosquito problem is just horrible!! I would LOVE to have this lamp for our porch that we sit out on in the morning for coffee, and in the evening to watch the sunset and just relax. We also like to eat dinner out there, but it has been too “buggy” out there to eat lately, so this would be perfect, the citronella candles kind-of clash with the dinner flavors. :-)

We have a lot of bonfires in the summer. We are near the water so at times the misquitos can get bad. My husband likes to light tiki torches with citronella oil to try to keep the bugs down. I don’t like it when he does that because I am always afraid someone is going to knock one over and start a fire or get hurt. These lanterns seem like they would be a much safer alternative.

I live in NC and with the humidity and the lack of a hard winter to kill of even the strongest of bugs, I really need this to take care of the mosquitoes that come out of the forest that is behind my backyard. I live in Florida, I NEED this just to spend an evening in our porch! I don’t like the sprays, it doesn’t matter how many times they tell you they are not sticky, you feel sticky!

In our rural area we have a multitude of outdoor pests, the lamp should make it more enjoyable to sit out on the deck in the cool of the evening.

We do a lot of cook-outs, which we usually have to adjourn to the house because of mosquitos and flies! I would love to have an actual meal outside. Thanks!

The power pad lantern would be a great addtion to cooking out on the patio. Our neighbor has a frog pond which attracts a lot of mosquitos (it doesn’t have running water).

We use our gas grill all year round. We do not have a problem in the winter but the suumertime is bug time. This would be useful in keeping the bugs away.

I would love to win this because I think it would help when we are outdoor cookouts and parties or really just any time, I hate how the sprays feel and I do not think they are good for us,the smell and the feel plus the kids HATE being sprayed but here in the south mosquitoes are so bad, this looks like the perfect thing!

Why am I excited? Because Alan and I LOVE to grill outside and enjoy the outdoors! (And of course, we don’t so much LOVE being bitten by mosquitoes…in fact, we could do without that entirely.

Oh how I would love to try out the little latern. Last summer, my hubby and I packed up the kids and moved to a beautiful new home right off a lake. As you can imagine, the bugs are horrible at night! We have a great deck, and if I had one of the Off Laterns we could BBQ, relax and read books, and simply enjoy the amazing view we have of the lake and mountains!
