Paralyzed Veterans of America Awareness Week: April 11-17, 2010

28677We donate to a few organizations each year. I remember my mother donating to one in particular, that I give to each year: Paralyzed Veterans of America

Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans) will mark its 64th birthday with a whole week of awareness-raising activities, beginning April 11 through April 17, 2010.

With events and activities across the country and the theme Empowering Lives, Paralyzed Veterans of America Awareness Week 2010 will highlight the unique challenges facing veterans with spinal cord injury/dysfunction. It will also spotlight the relentless work of Paralyzed Veterans to empower seriously wounded heroes and their families.

Join Paralyzed Veterans’ as we urge:

  • Leaders to use your leadership to ensure that paralyzed veterans get the quality care and benefits they need.
  • Employers to hire more paralyzed veterans and help reduce an 85% unemployment rate for veterans with severe disabilities.
  • Architects and builders to improve their designs by making them more wheelchair-accessible.
  • All Americans to do something good for paralyzed veterans in your community. For more details about Paralyzed Veterans of America visit www.pva.org.

Thank you SO much for talking about this charity, it is one that I also donate to every year. I appreciate any charity that supports our troops, veterans and disabled veterans.
