Save money with at home hair cuts with the Philips Norelco Kids Clipper *Review & Giveaway* (Closed)

clippersWhen it comes to saving money, there are SO many areas that you can look at to save money. This ranges from buying in bulk, purchasing store brand products and even saving money on hair cuts by cutting your son’s (and even hubby’s!) hair yourself. If you think about it; a hair cut runs what.. around $10-$15.00 at a local small shop? They need their hair cut, how often? I would say at least once a month, or every other month, so if you think about the cost, that will range around $60+ a year just for our son’s haircuts. If you add them together, that is around $120.00 a year for both hubby and Tucker. No way! I would rather invest in a hair cutter that we can do our own hair at home and save that money for things like a family trip or something for our home.

Well, Philips Norelco has saved our home, our trips to getting haircuts and money! Oh, and let’s not even talk about the loud buzz noise that we heard at one place that we went to not too long ago. It scared ME – I can only imagine what it sounded like to Tucker.

Philips Norelco understands that children have real fears when it comes to getting haircuts. The buzz of the hair clippers can be the one thing that may frighten kids and can make a trip to the barber unbearable – especially for parents – when those fears are realized (loudly) in public.

Now, parents can kiss those fears goodbye! Philips Norelco is launching a new Kid’s Clipper that will revolutionize your child’s hair-care routine. The Kids Clippers have a quiet “buzz” so a child won’t be startled or frightened by a loud noise around his sensitive ears. There are 15 length options and two attachments to help simplify your life and for easy storage. The clipper is also light and cordless, making it easy to move around your little guy’s head and not too heavy for you to hold while delivering a haircut that will make you a proud mom or dad. Additionally, the convenience and comfort of cutting your kid’s hair at home, allows you to save time and money, which is something every parent will love!

The Kids Clippers also come with a unique CD featuring Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salons. Rodney provides his tips and tricks on how to get your child comfortable with the hair cutting process, as well as advice on how to create the most popular little boy styles.

Here is our experience with the fabulous Philips Norelco Kids Clipper.

We love everything about this! It is cordless, so you don’t have to mess with a cord getting in the way while you are going around your child’s head. It is very quiet so it won’t scare him when you start to trim. We love that it is small! We can travel with this razor and the size makes it great for storage! It comes with a bag to store it in, so no more lost pieces.

27 Jeannie Pederson October 11, 2009 at 9:30 pm

Being a divorced mother of two growing boys, it is sometimes hard to keep up with all the expenses they require. Though I have a clipper at home, it is so hard to keep them still due to the loud noise the motor makes. To think that they invented one that is much quieter is great. I would very much love to try out this new product from Norelco and learn how I can cut my kids’ hair at home and save money at the same time. Thank you!!

Having the Philips Norelco would save our family a ton of money. It costs me $31 just for a shampoo and cut and I dont even have long hair..times that by 6 of us here and that sure adds up. With the Philips Norelco, we could trim our hair whenever we wanted which would save not only money but time spent making the trip to the hair salon…much more convenient. Just a great item to have on hand.

Please enter me. Thanks

Well for anyone who has brought their son in for a hair cut lately, you realize it takes them about 6 minutes to cut it and it’s costs like $15! I’d love to do the easy cuts in our family to save some extra cash! I bet my hubby would let me do his too! Another $20 a month saved! By the way, my little guy is Tucker too! There aren’t too many of them, you should tell him how lucky he is to have such a unique name! lol

My husband cuts our son’s hair, but uses an adult set of clippers. It makes me nervous! This would make me feel better when our little man is getting his hair cut.

52 Christie October 10, 2009 at 8:38 am

Finding money for haircuts is a challenge. Finding time for the barber trips is maybe even worse. The Philips Norelco Clipper would help!

53 Sandi October 10, 2009 at 2:35 am

These would help so much. Doing haircuts at home saves money and some embarrassment from fits at the beauty shop.

54 Kerrie mayans October 9, 2009 at 9:05 pm

This would save us $ and time. The last time we cut my son’s hair at home the clipper ran out of power half way thru so he had to spend the rest of the day with half a haircut and we had to convince him to let us finish the next day.

55 K Anne October 9, 2009 at 6:10 pm

This would definitely help us. DS #2 is deathly afraid of the clippers we use because he says they are too loud. These look like the answer to our problem.

Using Philips Norelco Kids Clipper to cut our own 2 boys’ hair would save us a lot of money. Both my boys have very thick hair that grows very fast and we get their hair cut every month which costs us about $14 a piece plus the tip.

61 Krystal October 8, 2009 at 12:46 pm

Would love to win one! I just saw a coupon for them at Target and googled to find reviews. I am so picky about my son’s hair and would save time and trouble to do it myself.

62 Kelly Martin October 7, 2009 at 9:00 pm

My son is nine months old and has already had 3 haircuts with our huge clippers- this clipper would save me the terror of watching my husband go at my baby’s head with those monsters as well as saving my son the fear of the noise & the blade! We haven’t had any accidents yet- but I’m afraid it’s only a matter of time with the amount of haircuts his daddy apparently wants to give him!

it seems that my husband and son start looking rough after about 2 weeks and like to keep their short hair trimmed up so o save money i bought a clipper set which turned out to be a joke. It pulled their hair, it was very loud, the clipper blade attachment kept popping off so back to the barber they go so was thinking about searching for new clippers because like it mentioned 12.00 – 15.00 for 1 haircut x 2 guys adds up after a while, that could pay for a mini vacation after a year. So entering to win this prize to save money and have my guys look trimmed more often.

Thank you so very very much

70 Kristin October 6, 2009 at 5:52 am

My son is three, hard-headed, and very afraid of getting his hair cut. Typically it takes both my husband and I to keep him still long enough for a haircut. Neither of us are practiced hair dressers, so he often has some longer strands here or there that we missed. The Kids Clipper will hopefully be a big help in keeping his hair trimmed and neat with less fuss. He’s really beginning to look like a shaggy dog.

71 Heidi October 5, 2009 at 9:51 am

The Philips Norelco Kids Clipper can help our family with haircuts and saving money since we are trying to teach our son how to be a good steward of the resources God has given us.

main entry: kids hair grows so much faster than adults so if you stay ontop of keeping it styled and groomed you would spend $10 at least per month at the Barber Shop if not more going in for trims. I cut my husbands hair/my own & my grandsons its easy and saves all that money so you can use it for fun instead for family time. BTW> you did a great job on your little hair cut. As soon as I finish with my grandsons he likes to put gel in the top & spike it. great giveaway so thanks for the offer. :-)

I have 3 boys and I’ve tried once to cut their hair at home. The bulky big clippers I have are not kid friendly and I ended up just buzzing off all their hair. Hoping this kid-friendly clippers will encourage me to try again!

77 Selinda McCumbers October 1, 2009 at 8:35 am

We have tried at home hair cuts before and always ended up with cutting all of my son’s hair off. He now states that he does not want Daddy to cut it because he knows that is what will happen. This could help with that!

78 Carrie Z September 30, 2009 at 6:41 am

I have three boys and a trip to the barber costs abot 35$ so this would be great for us, I will just have to get the courage to do it myself! Your’s looks great!

79 Deborah R September 29, 2009 at 3:21 pm

I’m comfortable cutting the family’s hair with scizzors but can’t get the close cut they want without clippers. This would save us a couple hundred a year!

80 Susan September 28, 2009 at 3:12 pm

These look easy to use and would save us a lot of time if I can just do this at home rather than taking them to the stylist.

81 Susan C September 28, 2009 at 1:51 pm

My two sons both have short hair and are always getting a trim. At $8.00 a cut, the savings could really add up.

This would help loads! My son wont let me touch his hair, when I finally get him held down he moves so much thats its all lopsided. When the buzz of the clippers starts he starts to yell and run, and our clippers have also snagged his hair a few times. Lately I’ve been thinking of just taking him to a salon but I dont have the extra money to do so, so right now his hair is pretty long(to mid/bottom of his ears)

It would help me because it comes with the CD. Right now, I’ll only clean up around the ears and back of the neck with a disposable beard razor, but if I won the CD and this nice Norelco Razor I would cut their hair. My husband is required in his job to have a military haircut, so you’re right, at least once a month we’re paying $12 just for his alone. Good luck to all.

Haircuts have become a luxury item in my house. I have had to cut our hair myself. Any item that will help me do a better job at hair cutting would be right up my alley.

This would be a blessing! I always watch the hairdresser use the clippers and I KNOW I can do the same thing and not spend $12 every time. Hope I win!

My two sons and my hubby all get their hair cut every 6 weeks or so. they all get crewcuts and this would help us save $30 every six weeks. Wow. what a budget help this would be. Thanks so much.

This would eliminate about $25 a month for us on haircuts.

Tanya,
I always cut my kids hair myself. The clippers I use are getting a little old so this would be nice. I could never afford to take 4 kids to get their hair cut so I taught myself how to do it. The clippers are only used for my husband & my oldest son. My other son has shaggy hair and my daughter doesn’t deserve a shaved head, I don’t care how bad she’s been ;)

My boys need haircuts every two months or so, costing around $30-40 each time. I would love to win this to save a whole lot of money every year; thanks for the great giveaway!

I cut (buzz) my hubby’s hair now. He has less hair than most kids, so surely these would work for him! :) He figures there is no sense in him PAYING for a haircut, and I’m happy to do it for him.

Right now getting haircuts is an luxury that isn’t fitting in the budget at all. So this is great.

i love that i could do my sons hair and not have to waste time driving to a salon!

My sons hair grows like a weed. On one income I hate paying 20.00 for boys haircut every few weeks. This would save us alot of money.

Philips Norelco Kids Clipper can help save my family money as I have 3 little guys of my own, plus my sisters and brothers combined have 17 children, 12 of which are boys too! This can really help us all save bigtime money on Barber visits!!

Not only saving money on haircuts, but time is saved for us also. At 20 buck a cut around here plus tipping is a huge savings when I need to take 3 boys for their hair cuts. I like that this is cordless and a cd to help you get the perfect hair cut.

As you mentioned haircuts are expensive. I could do them for both of my boys. That is $15 a pop plus tip each time every 6-8 weeks. It adds up quickly, plus the stress of going there for my little guy. Thanks for the opportunity.

147 sandra September 22, 2009 at 6:17 am

we’ve taken our kids to cartoon cuts and to the local barber, and both times the cuts did not come out as well as we had hoped. these clippers will definitely help us save money in that respect, as well as help us streamline the haircutting process.

It would help because we won’t have to make a trip to the barber (which includes a flight and some car travel)!

150 Jenna September 21, 2009 at 9:46 pm

My Mom could use these clippers for my little brothers! I know how to cut hair but these would definitely come in handy helping my Mom get their haircuts!

i have 5 children…3 are boys. If you add that up in haircuts its a lot of money and they have fast growing hair and need a haircut every 4 weeks.
