I take pictures. I mean, I take a LOT of pictures. Last year, I was in tears, beyond words, because I had lost everything off of my external hard drive. I lost 2 years worth of pictures, videos, documents, memories, you name it. Thankfully we have a family website where all our kids’ pictures and videos were uploaded so they were able to help restore most of what we lost from our hard drive crash. I can tell you that I put way too much faith in to my external hard drive, and this is something that never will happen again. My pictures are precious. All pictures are precious. We can only capture that moment, at that moment.
I recently was introduced to a product that, I believe, will be a true picture saver and must have for any household that is like me (takes a lot of pictures!) It is called Picture Keeper. What is Picture Keeper? It is basically a USB drive that fits in the palm of your hand and backs up all of your pictures on your computer; automatically!

Picture Keeper has software installed ON the USB drive, itself, so no need to go to download software from a CD, or from a website and download un-needed software that takes up space on your computer. I LOVE this!
Just insert the Picture Keeper drive into any USB port on your PC, click “Start Backup” and Picture Keeper automatically finds and saves all your pictures. That’s it! They all fit right there on the Picture Keeper drive. What’s more, subsequent backups are fast because Picture Keeper will only copy the newest images when you use it again to save your recently added or changed pictures.
And because Picture Keeper’s software runs right from the USB drive, you’ll be able to easily save pictures on multiple PCs (up to the drive’s capacity). I tried this out on my desktop AND my laptop. It saved images from BOTH computers.
Here is a video to show you how Picture Keeper works, from my laptop:
Users can also choose the more “advanced” options which allow you to select additional types of files or directories you want saved.
What size do I need? Click Here!
Specifications:
- Windows XP/Vista
- 512 MB RAM
- ReadyBoost Compatible
- USB 2.0 and 1.1 Compliant
- Advanced Options Available Features:
- 1 Year Warranty
- Easy to Open Packaging
- Lanyard Included
- 30 Day US Based Support
- Reminder Service
I am using the 8GB Picture Keeper. I have a Nikon D80, as well as I use a Casio Exilm that I use to take images for my blog reviews, as well as for personal use. I have both cameras set to take images at the highest resolution, so the files are pretty large. After I backed up over 1140 images to my Picture Keeper, I still had 84% left on the picture keeper. Amazing! Simply AMAZING! With a 8 GB Picture Keeper, it’s a snap to save up to 8,000 pictures! And because there’s no software to install, it’s that much easier. Also, the Picture keeper is Apple/Mac OS compatible!
Another thing that I LOVE is that you can set up a reminder on the Picture Keeper website. Why do you need this? Well, we all get busy in our lives, so it is nice knowing that we have a reminder that will be emailed to us knowing when our next scheduled back up will be. Love it!

My cousin’s wedding photographer bailed on her, so I ended up taking the pictures. This would have been a great way to send her the raw and edited images. In fact, if I don’t win one, I might need to buy one to put those pics in the safety deposit box.

This happened to me a few days ago. My fiance reformatted the hard drive without giving me a chance to transfer my files to another location. I think Picture Keeper can help save my precious memories by making it easy to back up my data.

Yes, I’ve lost my photo before.
My hard drive crashed about a year ago, and I lost most all of my photos that I had saved on there (except a few I had saved on a couple web sites).
I lost everything once when my computer died and it was devastating! I have pictures stored in files all over my computer, this would be such a great way to gather them together and store them safely. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this useful giveaway!

I lost everything on my comp nearly a decade ago. It was very upsetting.
I would choose the 8GB if I win.I have had a virus on my computer and had
to reinstall everything,so this is a blessing,I like that it finds your pics
and saves them and when you post new ones it saves them.Picures are way to
important to lose.
I’d pick the 8GB drive. i’ve lost lots of pics 2 the computer in my life.
Shortly after my dog died, my computer got a virus and I lost a lot of pictures I had taken of her.
I lost all of my pictures 2 years ago when my computer crashed. My computer is now on its last leg and I could really use this.

The 8GB would be so grand for us – we really need to protect, save and organize our photos which are both personal and also used in creative and artistic ways – we only save the pics that we really value – so if we ever lost them we’d be crushed!

I haven’t lost any pictures yet but I thought I had. I was able to recover them. Now I have to use a big clunky external hard drive and it’s a big PITA to get stuff on and off of it.
I love this little gizmo because it finds the pictures for me and saves them automatically. Now that is sweeeeeeeet!
Luckily I have never lost anything worth saving on my computer. However i do realize I eventually have to back up all my pics. My son just turned 3 so there are a lot of memories there.

My computer can sometimes be fickle, and there was a time where all of the pictures I uploaded were lost. This can really help me get organized and have a for sure backup!
Not me but my mom has lost hers twice and it means the world to her, I want to make sure that never happens to her again. She needs the 8 gb for sure
I have lost a few pictures and would love to have this to back them up.
The computer I have now is on its last leg so I had to order a new one. I actually ordered a refurbished one. I’d like to win this just so i can feel a little more secure that between this old laptop and my “new” refurbished one my pictures won’t get lost. Thanks for the chance.
I had saved some photos to a disc and recorded over them. With Picture Keeper this can’t happen.
My 14 yr. old daughter copied all our pics onto cds, but now I have a stack of unmarked cd’s and I don’t know what is on what cd, plus, there’s a bunch of them. I love the size of the picture keeper.
I lost pictures of my cat, when he was a kitten to me it was so sad
We had a computer person who supposedly put our pictures on an external hard drive for us before he cleaned off the hard drive on our PC. These were the baby pics for two of our six kids and other various pictures of the entire family. Now one of my sons has been diagnosed with a terminal condition and I don’t have his baby pictures. I’m also missing the pictures from the adoption of one of my daughters.
I would love to have the 8mb one. I never want to go through the heart ache of losing more pictures.

We’ve lost photos because we backed them up onto a CD with a program that allowed us to keep adding items to the CD. Then Internet Explorer came out with a new version that killed the software, so any CDs that weren’t finalized were basically useless.

We have all our pictures on a computer that has broke down constantly. At 8 gb it would hold my entire collection. It always worries me when my pics are on different disks etc and harddrives so one individual unit to keep everything would be cool and its not easy to get to as a computer file etc. I have lost files to kids hitting the wrong button ….That sucks . THis is a great giveaway
Thankfully I have never lost any photos, but I am dreading the day I ever have to deal with it because I have over 11,000 photos!

I was so fortunate to have a computer expert around when my hard drive crashed a couple of years ago. He was able to retrieve all my photos! Now I keep them backed up on CDs, but I can never really seem to find what I’m looking for. I also like the fact that I can save pictures from multiple PCs on the Picture Keeper. That would be wonderful!
This is an awesome giveaway… knock on wood… I haven’t lost on pictures in a while… I think the 16G is a good start BUT the 160 would be more in my range right now. Yep, I have lost precious photos when my computer crashed. To this day, I wince just thinking about it.
First, I would think I’d had a deprived techno-geek upbringing if I had not experienced at least one computer crash where I lost virtually everything stored on my computer – the only items salvageable were the monitor, keyboard and CPU housing. And I have a feeling that whoever created the Picture Keeper USB drive has gone through the same issue. Also, the feature I really appreciate about the Picture Keeper (other than saving my, uh, pictures) is the backup reminder.
I did recently lose pictures. We had a virus on our computer and had to reformat it and lost everything. I would love to have our photos all in one place so I think this would be great
I haven’t lost it all but I could, I really need this.
Last year I was putting 8 years of photos on to disc. I was called out side by my husband just as I had highlighted all my memories. Not thinking I just got up and went outside. A few minutes later I heard my Great Danes being naughty inside so I went in to see what was going on. One of them was uo on my coutch and sitting on my laptop. I freaked and yelled at her to get down. When I got to my computer I was horrified to see that her big booty had hit the delete button. Franticly I went to my trash can on my desktop to retrieve them but they weren’t there. I was unable to recover any of them. The hardest was the pics of my dog that had to be euthanized due to cancer a few months before this happened. All but 2 pics of him are gone forever. This device is ingenious!

All I have to say is that I absolutely love it. I need one of these Picture Keepers so badly. I have a great passion for photography so I have loads of photographs. I usually back them up on a CD but they really do not hold much, takes forever, and is so annoying. Having one of these Picture Keepers would really really really help me a lot because I could keep all of my photographs on one unit in one place. And it so easy to use. Plus I can take them anywhere and have easy access to them all. I so glad that you made me aware of this product. I gotta have one.

I think this would help me save my precious memories from being lost. I take at on of pictures and by having this, I won’t have to keep all my pictures on my laptop and make CD backups. I can have a lot smaller and less costly way to back up my pictures!
I lost a whole year of pictures… the year my daughter was born because my husband thought he was helping me clean up my laptop and deleted all of my pictures that he thought I had copies of or put on CDs already. I was able to get most of the pictures because my mom had copies of my CD’s but it was a pain in the butt to have to re upload them again and make a new CD. This would be great!
I didn’t… but my college roommate did INCLUDING a bunch of pictures of me! I think the “automated” aspect of the system will help keep my pictures safe b/c I’m terrible at remembering to back things up.
wow, great contest
Yes, years ago. It was terrible, the wiring on my computer failed and broke the fan so it overheated (I’m still confused about what happened). My computer basically was fried with no chance of repair. I lost EVERYTHING that was on it because I was an idiot and didn’t use backup at the time. Tough lesson to learn! Thanks for the giveaway!

I lost everything when my computer broke. I had to rescan all my pictures.
We thought we were being smart by storing all the pictures of the kids on an external hard drive as well as on the computer. Well, the house was broken into and the thieves stole the computer. Thankfully, they did not think to also take the hard drive which was sitting RIGHT THERE! Now I’m scared. If I could dump everything on something as small as the picture keeper, it could go where I go.
I just had a baby boy about 7 weeks ago. After leaving the hospital we discovered that the camcorder had stopped working. Somehow messing up the tape of our sons first moments in the world. I am unable to get the tape out because I can’t get the door to open. A couple weeks ago, my camera also gave us a big scare when it stopped working. It just sat there….screen black and light blinking. Luckily somehow…it decided to work again for the time being. I was completely devastated to think we had lost all of the pictures of our new baby as well. Every picture we had ever taken of him was still on the camera. This has now taught me to be very careful with my picture memories. I would love to win this Picture Keeper to help make our lives a lot easier. Thanks for the chance!
I hope that I am not jinxing myself but no pictures lost yet.

Imagine my surprise when I opened my comp(an old comp I might say) to find out that the HDD crashed and I lost all my son’s pic since the day o his birth till now…..
Luckely, I send some of those pics to my parents and this way I got some of them back but most of them(80%) are gone for good…
This USB drive(8 Gb) would make me feel more secure when it comes to my photos.

Mother’s day weekend my computer crashed. It is under warranty from Dell. The guys on the phone said they were going to be sending someone out to fix it. They said I would lose any information on it. I totally freaked out. For the past year I have neglected to print my daughter’s pictures and I was going to lose all of them. I also embroider, I have LOTS of money invested in designs and I was going to lose them all too. I had been meaning to back up my files to CD’s and external hard drive, but kept putting it off. So, I had to pay someone a fortune to recover my data before it was destroyed. Thankfully he was able to save everything important. This would allow me to save my most precious memories of my daughter.
I did one time lose all of my pictures. It was horrible!! Now I try to back up with as many avenues as I can and this would be one more that would help save my memories!

I LOVE to take pictures and since our son was born almost 2 years ago I have gone a little crazy with the picture taking. I couldn’t believe that all those pictures could just disappear like that! Luckily I had done a website so I had those and we were able to get a few off our hard drive, but it still is hard to think of all those that I don’t have anymore.

In order to continue to do so, it would be nice to win this because you can never have to much GBs for storing memories!

I ran out of room for picures. I decided that the printing sites like Kodakgallery and Shutterfly that let you put “albums” on them were the key. so I uploaded all my photos and then deleted them from my computer. First, I found out I couldn’t get them back when I needed to print or post one… You have to order a print…. then, when you don’t order after a certain amount of time they erase your album…. when I found out I almost died!! All my photos are GONE. I think an 8 GB picture keeper could save me from having this happen again. I would have the control over my own photos.
the big black out toronto had 5-6 years ago(or more?) when the power came back on i FRIED my computer and I lost everything. every baby picture of my two nephews for the first 6 and 4 years of thier lifes, as well as all the family birthday parties and holiday pictures I had. I could only get back the few I had posted online or saved on cd’s but over %90 were lost forever. I now have my own son and am terrified that somethign will happen to my computer and I will lose all his baby pictures.

My daughter-in-law was trying to erase something on my back-up computer and she wiped the hard drive clean. I lost the only pictures I had of my parents who are deceased.

I’ve lost my pictures before, it is terrible! I’d love to have a backup of my pics!

I would pick the 8GB. I have not lost photos on a computer but I have lost many of my real photos and of course they are not replaceable. This product is wonderful and would really come in handy!
i never have, hopefully i’m not due!

I’ve never lost our pictures per se, but when we got our new computer I couldn’t really figure out how to get our picture file off of our old computer to put on the new one. This would make all that SO easy!

I lost my oldest son’s graduation pictures….although I’m still in denial and I believe that they are in that computer somewhere and we just can’t find them! I’ve lost other photos as well and I’m in tears when it happens. I keep saying that we’re never putting photos on the computer again but we just downloaded 187 shots from our camping trip yesterday.
I would love to have the 8GB Picture Keeper!
Thanks for the chance to win!
I would love to win this. I have not lost any pictures yet thank goodness. I would be devasted if I lost them. Thank you for the chance

I lost everything last year and ,I am still upset. I had pictures from 5 years and some were the last last pictures of my oldest son and they are gone forever.
I now know to backup or even post to a site then I can retrive them
I would love the 8GB because I am the only picture taker of the family . I then pass them out to everyone. I enjoy taking photos ,it relaxing and I feel as if I am keeping that moment in time.
Thanks

I once lost everything on my harddrive, including pictures, videos, and school projects! It is the worst thing ever! I would love the 8gb picture keeper because I have tons of pics on my computer and am putting more on all the time!

I have 5 years worth of digital pictures stored in various places on my computer. I would LOVE to organize and protect them – they are of my kids and to lose them would be heartbreaking.
I haven’t lost any pictures but I am always fearful of it happening. I can’t believe how simple this product is to use.
What a great idea. Luckily I have never lost the pictures on my computer but I do need to store my pics somewhere. I don’t have a backup anywhere which I need to do ASAP.
I have memory cards full of pictures that I want to keep forever, the Picture Keeper would allow me to use my memory cards once again for new pictures.
I had backed up all my photos to CD just before my computer died. That was close. CDs are hard to handle. The Picture Keeper would be perfect.
I have never lost any pictures on my computer, but with the continual increase being added to it, the possibility exists. This would be a great way to safeguard them.
Oh, I’d love this. We have so many wonderful memories that we never print but just keep on my computer. We have lost pics before when my computer crashed, so I’d love to feel safe knowing that I’ve now saved them to prevent that from happening again. Thanks.

I have been lucky not to lose any pictures on my computer yet but I know that day is coming. I like the Picture Keeper because it looks so easy to use….and I need easy.

i have yet to lose my picture files, though my friend lost all her pictures in a house fire. this would help ensure that those precious memories are kept for years to come.
I NEED THE 8GB, BECAUSE MY LAPTOP IS RUNNIMG OUT OF SPACE
Yes, I had a computer crash and had to have a computer guru retrieve my photos and even he had a hard time ot it.
Just insert the Picture Keeper drive into any USB port on your PC, click “Start Backup” and Picture Keeper automatically finds and saves all your pictures. That’s it! This is simple and I do simple
I have lost some pics when my computer crashed, but luckily not all of them. I had saved some to a disk and then a couple months later it crashed, so just what added to the computer was lost. I would love to have this, because the cd’s get scratched up, and I’m afraid the pics i have on them will be ruined. Thanks!
We have lost pictures because my husband kept saying he was GOING TO back everything but- Ummm, he never did though.
This will be so much easier than having to remember to download pictures and maybe or maybe not save them correctly. Also makes it easier to take to a developer if I need to have pictured printed.
I have lost pictures because of a computer crash and it was frustrating. Now I know it is important to back them up.
I need to win this
I have your button.
I picked up a worm a few years back and lost everything. I would like to give this to DH to use with the laptop I gave him recently.

The Picture Keeper sounds wonderful. I have only lost a couple of pictures on the computer. I had the worst happen i had old scrapbooks and photo albums stored in the basement. It flooded I lost them all. They are irreplaceable as I didn’t have them scanned into the computer. Any that were salvageable are now in my computer. The Picture keeper would be great. I know I wouldn’t lose them if they were on the Picture Keeper.
Thanks for the chance.

i’ve been really lucky and havent lost my pictures but i have heard horror stories about it. i need one of these so i dont lose my pictures. i have years of pictures most of mine is on a disk, when i get my pictures developed i always by the disc of my pictures. thanks for the giveaway.
This would be great…so the next time my computer crashes,I won’t lose ALL my pics!
I have never lost any pictures on my computer. I hope it stays that way until I get a system to back them up
Oh my god! your story is just like mine. I had years of photos on my computer and just last year I had lost every thing due to a hard drive crash. My computer guys tried his best to save any thing from it but no luck. I wish I know about those picture keepers it would have saved me from a lot of tears and heartache. I am a scrapbooker and when I lost all those photos I kicked myself for not getting any prints done. I have gotten into a routine as soon I load my pictures onto my computer to save what photos I want to a jump drive and get prints made A.S.A.P
I think I would like one of those picture keepers. I like to get my hands on the larger picture keeper I love it that it stores so many photos (8000) plus it founds the photos automatic.
i have never lost all my pictures, that would be devastating! However its important to keep pictures because they hold all your special memories!! Pictures are very important keepsakes!!

Wow, Picture Keeper is amazing! I think that this would completely help me because I take tons and tons of pictures and although I always say I’m going to copy them right away, it always takes me awhile. It seems so easy to just insert it in your usb and it finds the pictures and copies them. I love it!!
When my son was a baby I had over two thousand pictures saved on my computer. Along came a lovely virus that completely fried my computer and I lost all my pictures. I was devastated!! I totally need this device to keep my pictures safe!!!

I just recently purchased a digital camera and keep most of my pictures on the computer. It is scary to think that in the blink of an eye they could all be gone is something were to happen to my computer. With and item like this I could keep them all on there as well and know that if something were to happen I would still have those memories safe

I have never lost all of my photos, but my brother did delete a folder containing some old schools photos from 2006-2007 that are now lost and gone forever. A few are in small files on Facebook but it’s not the same.
I have never lost any of those things. But I have lost my keys, does that count?

Any picture keeper of any kind is a breath of air knowing that my memories are saved somewhere besides my computer.

I have never lost pictures on my computer-yet. But I have all my pics that haven’t been printed on one computer. It would be great to have them backed up elsewhere.
I’m really paranoid about backing up my photos to DVDs and secondary harddrive.
The 8G Picture Keeper seems really easy to use. I would give this to my father because he needs something easy to use.

I would pick the 8GB if I win. We have lost pictures, still trying to retrieve, from our old computer. We lost track of bunches of pictures in our big move from Indiana to upstate New York. Still searching out these. Would love to have all of our pictures scanned, digitalled and protected with the picture keeper. Much needed.
This would definately protect our precious memories. Pictures are the truest keepsakes of our sweet times with our babies, watching them grow up so quickly. Pictures are the way to hang on to it.
Blessings
i’m new to computers (my kids aren”t, my little one teethed on a computer mouse! unplugged of course) but if the pictures of my son at Disneyworld got lost in the computer i would be DEVASTATED. devastated.
