Preserve & Back Up those Memories with Picture Keeper *Review & Giveaway*

pk-logo250

I take pictures. I mean, I take a LOT of pictures. Last year, I was in tears, beyond words, because I had lost everything off of my external hard drive. I lost 2 years worth of pictures, videos, documents, memories, you name it. Thankfully we have a family website where all our kids’ pictures and videos were uploaded so they were able to help restore most of what we lost from our hard drive crash. I can tell you that I put way too much faith in to my external hard drive, and this is something that never will happen again. My pictures are precious. All pictures are precious. We can only capture that moment, at that moment.

I recently was introduced to a product that, I believe, will be a true picture saver and must have for any household that is like me (takes a lot of pictures!) It is called Picture Keeper. What is Picture Keeper? It is basically a USB drive that fits in the palm of your hand and backs up all of your pictures on your computer; automatically!

pklogoPicture Keeper has software installed ON the USB drive, itself, so no need to go to download software from a CD, or from a website and download un-needed software that takes up space on your computer. I LOVE this!

Just insert the Picture Keeper drive into any USB port on your PC, click “Start Backup” and Picture Keeper automatically finds and saves all your pictures. That’s it! They all fit right there on the Picture Keeper drive. What’s more, subsequent backups are fast because Picture Keeper will only copy the newest images when you use it again to save your recently added or changed pictures.

And because Picture Keeper’s software runs right from the USB drive, you’ll be able to easily save pictures on multiple PCs (up to the drive’s capacity). I tried this out on my desktop AND my laptop. It saved images from BOTH computers.

Here is a video to show you how Picture Keeper works, from my laptop:

usb8gb1Users can also choose the more “advanced” options which allow you to select additional types of files or directories you want saved.

I am using the 8GB Picture Keeper. I have a Nikon D80, as well as I use a Casio Exilm that I use to take images for my blog reviews, as well as for personal use. I have both cameras set to take images at the highest resolution, so the files are pretty large. After I backed up over 1140 images to my Picture Keeper, I still had 84% left on the picture keeper. Amazing! Simply AMAZING! With a 8 GB Picture Keeper, it’s a snap to save up to 8,000 pictures! And because there’s no software to install, it’s that much easier. Also, the Picture keeper is Apple/Mac OS compatible!

Another thing that I LOVE is that you can set up a reminder on the Picture Keeper website. Why do you need this? Well, we all get busy in our lives, so it is nice knowing that we have a reminder that will be emailed to us knowing when our next scheduled back up will be. Love it!

I would pick the 8GB if I win. We have lost pictures, still trying to retrieve, from our old computer. We lost track of bunches of pictures in our big move from Indiana to upstate New York. Still searching out these. Would love to have all of our pictures scanned, digitalled and protected with the picture keeper. Much needed.

This would definately protect our precious memories. Pictures are the truest keepsakes of our sweet times with our babies, watching them grow up so quickly. Pictures are the way to hang on to it.

    Blessings
