I take pictures. I mean, I take a LOT of pictures. Last year, I was in tears, beyond words, because I had lost everything off of my external hard drive. I lost 2 years worth of pictures, videos, documents, memories, you name it. Thankfully we have a family website where all our kids’ pictures and videos were uploaded so they were able to help restore most of what we lost from our hard drive crash. I can tell you that I put way too much faith in to my external hard drive, and this is something that never will happen again. My pictures are precious. All pictures are precious. We can only capture that moment, at that moment.
I recently was introduced to a product that, I believe, will be a true picture saver and must have for any household that is like me (takes a lot of pictures!) It is called Picture Keeper. What is Picture Keeper? It is basically a USB drive that fits in the palm of your hand and backs up all of your pictures on your computer; automatically!

Picture Keeper has software installed ON the USB drive, itself, so no need to go to download software from a CD, or from a website and download un-needed software that takes up space on your computer. I LOVE this!
Just insert the Picture Keeper drive into any USB port on your PC, click “Start Backup” and Picture Keeper automatically finds and saves all your pictures. That’s it! They all fit right there on the Picture Keeper drive. What’s more, subsequent backups are fast because Picture Keeper will only copy the newest images when you use it again to save your recently added or changed pictures.
And because Picture Keeper’s software runs right from the USB drive, you’ll be able to easily save pictures on multiple PCs (up to the drive’s capacity). I tried this out on my desktop AND my laptop. It saved images from BOTH computers.
Here is a video to show you how Picture Keeper works, from my laptop:
Users can also choose the more “advanced” options which allow you to select additional types of files or directories you want saved.

I am using the 8GB Picture Keeper. I have a Nikon D80, as well as I use a Casio Exilm that I use to take images for my blog reviews, as well as for personal use. I have both cameras set to take images at the highest resolution, so the files are pretty large. After I backed up over 1140 images to my Picture Keeper, I still had 84% left on the picture keeper. Amazing! Simply AMAZING! With a 8 GB Picture Keeper, it’s a snap to save up to 8,000 pictures! And because there’s no software to install, it’s that much easier. Also, the Picture keeper is Apple/Mac OS compatible!
Another thing that I LOVE is that you can set up a reminder on the Picture Keeper website. Why do you need this? Well, we all get busy in our lives, so it is nice knowing that we have a reminder that will be emailed to us knowing when our next scheduled back up will be. Love it!

My cousin’s wedding photographer bailed on her, so I ended up taking the pictures. This would have been a great way to send her the raw and edited images. In fact, if I don’t win one, I might need to buy one to put those pics in the safety deposit box.

This happened to me a few days ago. My fiance reformatted the hard drive without giving me a chance to transfer my files to another location. I think Picture Keeper can help save my precious memories by making it easy to back up my data.

Yes, I’ve lost my photo before.
My hard drive crashed about a year ago, and I lost most all of my photos that I had saved on there (except a few I had saved on a couple web sites).
I lost everything once when my computer died and it was devastating! I have pictures stored in files all over my computer, this would be such a great way to gather them together and store them safely. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this useful giveaway!

I lost everything on my comp nearly a decade ago. It was very upsetting.
I would choose the 8GB if I win.I have had a virus on my computer and had
to reinstall everything,so this is a blessing,I like that it finds your pics
and saves them and when you post new ones it saves them.Picures are way to
important to lose.
I’d pick the 8GB drive. i’ve lost lots of pics 2 the computer in my life.
Shortly after my dog died, my computer got a virus and I lost a lot of pictures I had taken of her.
I lost all of my pictures 2 years ago when my computer crashed. My computer is now on its last leg and I could really use this.

The 8GB would be so grand for us – we really need to protect, save and organize our photos which are both personal and also used in creative and artistic ways – we only save the pics that we really value – so if we ever lost them we’d be crushed!

About a year ago, I had a hard drive crash on me and we lost a LOT of photos. I was sick to my stomach and now try to remember and backup on CD’s. But, sometimes I forget. So at anytime, I could lose some.

I had a CD full of pictures that got lost. Fortunately I had given one of my children a copy of that same CD so I was able to get them back. I can’t always be that lucky.

I’ve lost pictures and I can’t tell you how mad it makes me because I know I can backup my drive but fail to do so – so I’m angry with myself and the pos computer. Anyway, I’d pick the 8GB drive. Thx.

I haven’t lost any pictures yet but I thought I had. I was able to recover them. Now I have to use a big clunky external hard drive and it’s a big PITA to get stuff on and off of it.
I love this little gizmo because it finds the pictures for me and saves them automatically. Now that is sweeeeeeeet!
Luckily I have never lost anything worth saving on my computer. However i do realize I eventually have to back up all my pics. My son just turned 3 so there are a lot of memories there.

i would love this to store my pics in case that ever happens
My computer can sometimes be fickle, and there was a time where all of the pictures I uploaded were lost. This can really help me get organized and have a for sure backup!
Not me but my mom has lost hers twice and it means the world to her, I want to make sure that never happens to her again. She needs the 8 gb for sure
I have lost a few pictures and would love to have this to back them up.
The computer I have now is on its last leg so I had to order a new one. I actually ordered a refurbished one. I’d like to win this just so i can feel a little more secure that between this old laptop and my “new” refurbished one my pictures won’t get lost. Thanks for the chance.
I had saved some photos to a disc and recorded over them. With Picture Keeper this can’t happen.
My 14 yr. old daughter copied all our pics onto cds, but now I have a stack of unmarked cd’s and I don’t know what is on what cd, plus, there’s a bunch of them. I love the size of the picture keeper.
I lost pictures of my cat, when he was a kitten to me it was so sad
We had a computer person who supposedly put our pictures on an external hard drive for us before he cleaned off the hard drive on our PC. These were the baby pics for two of our six kids and other various pictures of the entire family. Now one of my sons has been diagnosed with a terminal condition and I don’t have his baby pictures. I’m also missing the pictures from the adoption of one of my daughters.
I would love to have the 8mb one. I never want to go through the heart ache of losing more pictures.

I’ve never really lost my photos, but when I got my new laptop I put all the files from my old one on cd which I actually found to be kind of annoying and I never use it. I’d love to have this as a central storage for all my family’s pictures!
We’ve lost photos because we backed them up onto a CD with a program that allowed us to keep adding items to the CD. Then Internet Explorer came out with a new version that killed the software, so any CDs that weren’t finalized were basically useless.

We have all our pictures on a computer that has broke down constantly. At 8 gb it would hold my entire collection. It always worries me when my pics are on different disks etc and harddrives so one individual unit to keep everything would be cool and its not easy to get to as a computer file etc. I have lost files to kids hitting the wrong button ….That sucks . THis is a great giveaway
Thankfully I have never lost any photos, but I am dreading the day I ever have to deal with it because I have over 11,000 photos!
I would love the 8gb to save my pictures on it. I have never lost any and hope I don’t
