We just moved in our new house a month ago. Now that we’ve closed and it’s ours, I’ve been making it ours. I wanted to share what I did with my 6 year old daughter’s room. She wanted pink and black…. sooooo that’s exactly what she got.
Here’s what all I got, just to give you an idea of where you can find these items and an estimate of price.
2 panels of 84 inch long black rosette curtains. $12.97 each
Most of the items, we got from Garden Ridge. I LOVE this place! I highly recommend looking in your area to see if you have one. We love ours! This picture, I got for $6.00 since it was in the half off clearance aisle.
Kam saw these and ‘had to have them’. Add-heres stickers/decals and mirrors for the wall. Garden Ridge for $12.00
This Girls Rule canvas was a must! Garden Ridge for $19.99. The pink sheets matched perfect and we found those at Walmart for $10.00
We decided not to get the curtains on the left in this picture. We got the ones that are just above. We did get this awesome diva comforter set at Garden Ridge for $59.99.
How is it that when you aren’t looking for something, you find something you want or need and when you need it so bad, it’s no where to be seen? I was out running errands one day and I went in to Gordman’s. I saw this desk lamp for $9.99 and this amazing desk for $49!
I found these plush pink pillows at Garden Ridge for $9.00 each, the pink rug (also at Garden Ridge) for $9.00 and the black shimmery star pillow at Walmart for $5.00.
Oh, Garden Ridge how I love you so! What diva room can be without a hot pink papason chair? $29.99
And here’s the room today! I bought 2 quarts of satin paint at two different places. At True Value, I found Penguin Black (D447) for $13 for the quart, and the Bright Fuchsia Fizz (10012) at Walmart for $9 for the quart.
Without further ado, here’s princess Kambry’s new diva room!
When this house was built, they put all the lights on the walls, verses in the middle of the ceiling. For now, we are leaving it until we can get the wires re-ran.
The guitar on the wall is a Paper Jamz guitar powered by Rayovac. It’s a perfect fit for decoration and she can still play with it when she wants to.
The 3 mirrors in the corner are for her to play dress up.
This diva room is complete with a gorgeous pink chandelier from Hobby Lobby. Kam’s grandma found this at Hobby Lobby for $59.99.
I forgot to add that her corner bed (isn’t it AWESOME?!!) was found at Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha. I paid $120 for it.
When I started painting, I heard comments like ‘Oh you don’t want black! It’ll be so dark in there!’ Well, I disagree. Only one wall is black, one is pink and the other two are a light tan color. It’s perfect!
This post is not sponsored or paid for. We recently moved, and I love to paint and build, so I’m sharing my ideas, tips, pricing I paid in case anyone’s interested in creating a diva room.
