Have fun. Connect. Get Poken! *Review & Giveaway*

LOGO-StartPoken-July09-finalIn the past few months, I have done quite a bit of traveling for my blog for conferences and blog summits. I have been getting a lot of business cards from fellow bloggers, and that is great, but what if there was a quick way to connect with the people that you meet? I have found a FUN way to do just that. It is called Poken. Not only is Poken simply adorable, but it is fun and a great way to get in contact and keep those people’s information handy so you can contact them once you get back home.

You might be asking ‘How in the world can this adorable piece of technology help me keep in contact with those I just met?’

Long story short:
You keep Poken with you; on a keychain, around your neck, in your purse, etc. When you meet up with another person that has a Poken, you simply touch your Poken with their Poken and you literally ‘swap contact information’. How cool is that?

How do you use Poken?

Meet Face to Face
Touch your Poken hands together for 1-2 seconds to swap contact info

Remove the Poken Hand
To reveal the USB connector

Plug in to your Computer
Sign-in to your master account and your new contacts are added.
Poken supports vCards and all social networking websites including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Orkut, Flickr and more!

Here is a short video from Fiona of Bantering Blonde.com to show you a quick overview of the Poken.

I had to try it for myself at a recent blog conference. I have to say first hand, that Poken is SO much fun! I thought, at first, that Poken was just for kids that want to keep in touch online with their school buddies, but for adults, Poken is truly a conversation starter! Just the other day, I had my Poken in my keychain, someone noticed it and they had one, so we touched our Poken together and Walah – we swapped email addresses, website, FlickR, Facebook and I made a new friend.

As a parent’s stand point, I think the Poken would be a great ‘back to school’ gift for the kids! When your child starts back to school, they can easily set up their Poken and when they get to school, they don’t have to worry with them getting in trouble for passing notes in class with their email, phone number and other online ways to keep in touch. No more writing down your info and passing it on a note; simply connect with your Poken.

I am 33 and I have to say that this is SO much fun! I look forward to each and every event that I attend and I look to see if the other person I am near has a Poken.

There are so many fun styles of Poken available. There is sure to be one for you, and you and you!

There are SO many Pokens available! Thank you so much to Fiona for your video! It was sent to me to use by poken.com

I like the Geisha Poken. There have been times when I’d like to swap info. I met a lady at the bookstore awhile back. We talked for quite awhile about our common interests and ended up exchanging e-mails. A Poken would be perfect!

I love the Panda Poken! Actually, several are really cute and funny. I can see myself with a few. I would love to have one so I can swap info with other mom friends without digging through my gigantic diaper bag (I have twins) for a pen and paper. This will make networking such fun! Thanks for the giveaway.
