Starting 2010 off Potty Trained! (Tips that helped us!)

Kambry, that is. I have been potty trained for years now. Kambry is 2 years, 2 months. I am SO proud! I have had some people ask me for tips, hints, suggestions.

Tucker is 4 1/2 and he took longer;  more like until he was 3, to be potty trained. I used a similar method with Kambry that I did with Tucker.

We live in an old 1900 home. Our downstairs bathroom gets very cold in the winter, so Kambry didn’t like going in there to potty due to the cold, so I moved her Boon Potty Seat to the dining area. We don’t dine in there, so it was perfect. Plus, I put her seat by the heater vent, so her lil’ toosh wouldn’t freeze. I have to say that this potty seat is fabulous!

I put some extra panties for her on the left side, put a package of wipes on the right (there is a toilet paper holder, but for now, she uses wipes), and I make sure to keep a book that she can look at while she does her business.

potty training tip1

After she goes potty, we have a ‘treat jar’. She KNOWS this jar! She gets sooo excited! Word: This. Jar. Works! She knows ‘treat, treat!’

potty training tip2

Bribery? Probably, but hey – it works. I did a similar thing with Tucker, but we used a tall vase and filled it with plastic/holloe Easter Eggs. Inside each egg was a treat or small suprise. Pee = one suprise eggs. Poop = two suprise eggs.

Try it! You never know if this will work for your little one, unless you try. Good luck and please keep me posted! I would love to hear if something like these ideas work for your little one!

The surprise eggs idea is cute. :-) I think my toddler would probably like the M&Ms the best, though. lol

I love your suggestion of hiding treats in an egg. Each one is a surprise so that’s a great idea!!
