Public speaking anxiety

I have always had a public speaking anxiety. I am not a fan of speaking in public. Just this week, I was interviewed by a new station about blogging. I was scared out of my mind and nervous. Hopefully the interview went well and I cant wait to see the video! Do you have a fear of public speaking? How do you get over it?

I have to agree with Kayla. I was never afraid of public speaking,so it’s not fair for me to say………but I do believe this….the people who know you will be thrilled to see you, the people who CARE about what you’re saying will be grateful & the people who may find you….nervous, well, they’re most likely nervous too. AND what do you care what they think? There will be somebody else on right after you & it will then be their turn to be nervous. Don’t worry about it, try to think of it as sitting around talking to all of your friends & be yourself.Everybody gets nervous about something, most people will relate! I bet you did fine. You do just great in here,I know I enjoy all that you blog about!

I’ve always been nervous about speaking in front of people — I’ve sometimes even thrown-up before doing it, and that usually helps – TeeHee! I’m o.k. if there is another group around with me that is going to speak, but if it’s just me, I’m scared to death. I was given so relaxation techniques to do by a therapist before having to do public speaking – and it has helped. Maybe a therapist in your area can help you in your area.

Sorry I’m not much more help.

You know, for some reason, that never really phased me. Of course I would get nervous RIGHT BEFORE I went on, but then I just took a deep breath and thought, “Why do I care what these people think?” Then I would be perfectly fine.
I wish I could help ya though!
