Tucker is at that age where he wants to help, but he is also at that age where I would love to give him some ‘chores’ to do. I think that giving our kids something responsible to do will teach them so much! I was approached for a product that I have such faith in and that has given my house some fun structure: ResponsiBuilders.
ResponsiBuilders is a set of laminated playing cards designed to make household chore assignment easier and more fun. The box states that the game is for ages 3 and up, but this game is not just for kids! Many families involve everyone! Share the workload and get the chores done quickly!
In the 50 card deck, most of the cards depict common household chores. Other cards are “free” cards, or reward cards that do not require a chore. Some cards are just plain fun, like the, “Family Fun Night” card. Also included in the deck are blank cards on which your family can create your own unique chore card needs.
The cards are brightly colored with pictures that whimsically depict the chores so that even non-readers can easily understand their chosen assignments. Along with the artwork are creative verses that the family will enjoy reading.

Also available for purchase is a fabric playing card organizer that easily mounts on your refrigerator. The organizer has pockets for 5 family members and serves as a great reminder of which tasks need to be done and which are completed. It comes complete with clip magnets to hold it securely to any metallic surface.
This is how the game works:
On the day (days) that you choose to do chores (it could be daily) sort through the cards and choose the cards that are appropriate for that particular day. Lay the cards face down on a smooth surface and let everyone choose cards. The cards that each person chooses will be their chore assignments for the day. Each participant slips their chore cards into the “To Do” pockets in the card organizer under their assigned number. When a chore card is completed, it is moved to the “Done” pocket. The organizer provides a constant “visual” regarding what chores need to be completed and what chores are done!
I LOVE the entire concept of ResponsiBuilders! I love the packaging. I love the set up (so easy!). I love the cards for ‘responsibilities. I love everything about this!
We have ResponsiBuilders on the side of our fridge. Here, Tucker can reach his cards easily and move them from the “to do” section over to the “Done” section. There are 50 cards includes, and the responsibilities range anywhere from taking a rug outside to shake clean, help dust, help with dishes and so much more!
There are even blank cards included so you parents can write in your own responsibilities on them.
The character designs on each card are so precious! Example: for the ‘washing dishes’ card, it has a picture of a little girl and her puppy helping to wash dishes. On the card, is says “Oh I wish, wish, wish! to help with the dishes, dishes, dishes!”
So sweet! So far, the ResponsiBuilder is a great hit in our home. Kambry is even helping out!

I love the idea of these! I would love to get my three year old started helping around the house in a positive way. He loves games, so I think he’d really take to this.
I think this would be great to pass along to my sister who has 3 boys ages 7,11 and 12. It would make the chores a little more exciting and her children respond very well to this sort of thing.

this would help my children feel like we are having fun and playing a game and they will start looking forward to choosing a chore time. thanks clallen at ntin dot net
Having fun colorful cards would make my son think of completing chores as less of an actual chore, and more like a game.
i would like to help use this with grandchilden
I love how reading isn’t necessarily required for this “game”. It gets everyone involved in the “fun” and no one is left out responsibility-wise!

We used to have a chore “game” that the kids loved but it was lost in a housefire. I know they would LOVE this one too! I love how organized it sounds and I thnk it will really make chores fun for our family again!
This looks great! I would love to use this in my house! It’s so hard to get the kids to do anything.
I love that this will help motivate kids to help out instead of feeling like they’re being punished, always a good thing!
This will make things fun! There is always debate about who will do what and this will make it clear and teach responsibility at the same time!
My kids all enjoy doing SOME chores but when you make into such a great game like this, I think my 8 year old will be chomping at the bit to play this every chance he can.
I have learned if I want my boys to clean up I have to make it a game. Like lets race to see who finishes first, I think this would make them want to do chores more
I have 4 kids so it gets a little chaotic. I think this would help make things more fun and organized!
I would actually like this for my sisters kids, since her husband is in Iraq I think the kids should help her out more and this would work well I think!

My son has had a few chores but now he is getting older and needs to start having more responsibility. I think this would be perfect for him. He would know exactly what we expect out of him.
I think the visual, concrete aspect will help her. The idea of “responsibility” is too nebulous.

It would make it more fun and easier to be consistent with what responsibilities need to be done. It would make them feel good about it too.
Thanks!

I think JDaniel would enjoy that there are free cards and ones that talk about family activities. He loves to clean already.

My daughter is just getting to an age where she can start doing more chores-I think this would really be great to help her!
This would be very helpful for my daughter because she LOVES to play games and making chores a “game” would be fun for her. This looks like a very interesting way to teach responsibility. Thanks for the chance to win!

I always had some sort of chart for when my grandchildren were here at Meema’s house. I rewarded with stickers when a chore or “deed” was done. I included going to the potty & even drinking water & eating veggies. I love this system & think it’s a great way to help with responsibility.I would like it even more if it included chores with the Pets. I’m sure the blank cards could be used for that.I don’t think they’re ever too young to learn that there are things in life that you must do to be a good citizen.Girls & boys alike need to know how to keep their home looking inviting.

I have a really hard time with my youngest. I think this would be fun for him especially with the reward cards.
These cards would be great to help my kids learn how to do chores around the house. They are too young to read, so seeing the pictures on the cards would be great, and I think it being more of a fun game would make them want to help out more often.
THIS IS SUCH A WONDERFUL GIVEAWAY, LOVE IT!

What a terrific idea! Responsibuilders would provide my son and his wife with a much easier (and fun) way to get their two little girls to help Mom around the house and pick up after themselves. This “game” also builds responsibility and demonstrates the children’s contribution to the family, creates a work ethic and provides satisfaction from a job well done, not to mention monetary rewards. I also think using Responsibuilders would be more consistent and easier for the girls to understand what chores are.

I have been trying to figure out a good method to handle chores with my 7 year old. This looks great. Thanks for the chance.

This would work for adults and kids in my household. We do chores on the weekends and we could pick our chores and make it a game on who can get done the fastest. My kids can learn by example as well since we would complete chores as a family.

I think it would help make chores and other responsibilities a fun thing to do for my son. He loves playing games and anything that we could incorporate into a game, I think he would enjoy.
I’m always trying to think of small chores the kids can help with. With two sets of twins, it is hard to find something for everyone without argument!
This will help me come up with a whole list and a very simple way to allocate them out. Thanks!

these cards will help my kids visualize and learn how to do chores around the house

I think this is great. We’ve been working with our son on making his bed, putting away some of his laundry and just things that I know he can do. This would help me get organized and keep up with it.
I have 3 kids and getting all of them to help around the house and do chores is like pulling teeth. If the Responsibuilders can help even 1 of them to work willingly is a gift that would be priceless and help me out more than a nanny or a maid but I would take those too!

This will help my godson learn better responsibility & such because it’ll show him a more exiting & fun way to take in the learning.
With both my boys, getting them to do anything is a game. “Don’t eat that broccoli…don’t…don’t”. Then they eat it. This game might just fit the bill for getting them to pick up and do a few chores around the house.
