Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop *Review & Giveaway!* (Closed)

Those that have kids know that it takes a lot to keep your floors clean. Not everyone likes to spend a lot of money on cleaners to keep our floors clean. What if I told you that there was a spray mop that you could make and use your own cleaner in it? Talk about saving money right there! I have been using another spray mop with expensive cleaners for a while to mop my floors, so I was excited to try something that didn’t cost much, if anything, to use to clean my floors.

MG thoughts

Here are my thoughts – right off the bat. I LOVE this mop! What a great idea and a great addition to any home!

  • No batteries needed. What, no batteries? Yeah – NO batteries are needed. You use the trigger handle, pull, spray, mop, walah!
  • You don’t have to buy disposable mop pads, you simply use the pad, use again and when it’s ready to be cleaned, just toss in the wash.
  • You don’t need expensive chemical refills, you can make your own, use plain water or you can even opt to use store bought cleaners and dilute them. Here are some recipes from Rubbermaid:

Cleaning Solution 1
• 2 Tablespoons ammonia
• ½ cup white vinegar
• ½ teaspoon of baby shampoo
• Fill the rest with hot water

This solution works well on hardwood floors.

Cleaning Solution 2
• 2Tablespoons white vinegar
• 2-3 drops liquid soap
• Fill the rest with hot water

This solution is perfect for glazed tiles, vinyl, soft tile, cement, brick, and laminate.

Cleaning Solution 3
• 2 Tablespoons baking soda
• 2-3 drops liquid soap
• Fill the rest with hot water

This solution is great for unglazed tiles, marble, stone, and slate.

Cleaning Solution 4
• 1 Tablespoon white vinegar
• 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
• Fill the rest with hot water

This solution also works well on hardwood floors.

Nothing fancy, just a short video to show you ‘no batteries’ and how it works.

So far, I can see this saving my budget a lot of money. With my other mop, I had to buy the liquid refills, box of cleaning pads and more batteries. Talk about a way to break the budget right there. All in all – love this mop! Give it all the stars, and then some!

I really want this mop, I usually do my floors the old fashioned way-(on my knees with a rag and bucket) this would make mopping so much more easier and less painful for my knees, I have 2 cats that love to throw up on a regular basis and I am forever mopping up something, my only real cleaning tip is when wiping down counter tops, bathroom walls, refrigerators, ect. to use any brand of the cleaning erasers that are on the market, I think they work wonders on every surface and seem to remove any kind of marks, stains or mess and I use them alot, dont know how they make them so versatile but they are, they do shrink down from use pretty fast but I keep a supply on hand to use when cleaning, Thanks for this great giveaway

And my cleaning tip of the year…don ‘t buy a Swiffer! Haa-haa-haa-haa, just kidding!
Seriously, don’t use Pine-Sol, it leaves a VERY yucky residue on your newly clean floors, something I learned the hard way. I had cleaned my floors with Pine-Sol one afternoon and later that night…I could see footprints/shoe prints in the glare of the lights. It was horrible because I had company over at the time. All I could think of was, “Gosh, I hope my company doesn’t think my floors are clean because they can see where they had just walked.” Embarrassing moment #5, 162 of 2010! Eeekkk! =)

I’m also interested in it because it doesn’t use chemicals to clean. I have tried 3 different items to clean the tiles and so far I haven’t found anything that works well. This looks like an awesome product for tile!

You asked for cleaning tips and I don’t really have any. I do try to find the easiest and most non-toxic way to clean my home. One good tip I can think of is to clean the microwave. Simply heat up a bowl of water for about 5 minutes or so. Then let it sit in the microwave for another 5 minutes so the steam can build up inside. Take the bowl of water out (carefully) and simply wipe down the microwave with a cloth or paper towels. It’s the best non-toxic way to clean :good:

My carpet one is in a corner of the hallway right by the family room which needs to be vacuumed at least once a day with my kids around and my hard floor vacuum I keep in the corner of my dining area in the kitchen. I like to use vinegar and baking soda to clean! Does a great job and it’s cheap!

This mop would be so nice to have since i have a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old. I have to mop almost every night! This would be great for frequent users since you can make your own solution and wash thecleaninghead.

I keep the house always organized, make sure everything not used is put away, and clean little sections of the house each day so it’s not overwhelming.

Sometimes I clean the shower/bath when I’m taking a shower (only when I’m super duper busy and know I won’t be able to do it properly)

I’d love this mop for so many reasons: I can use my own cleaning solution, I can spray more cleaner when I need too and it lasts so much longer than what I use now!

I would love to win this RubberMaid mop because I am constantly looking for a better way to clean my floors. I have three kids and a step-kid that comes and goes that are constantly in and out. We need something that works quick, easy, and is inexpensive. I have new flooring in my dining room and am preparing to put down new flooring in the kitchen and would really like something that will help keep the floor clean and looking new. We also have two cats and a inside/outside dog–between the shedding and accidents looking for a good way to clean the floors is a constant battle for me. Therefore, having a mop that is quick, easy, and inexpensive would be a great addition to helping my family keep our floors clean and in good shape.

the best thing I’ve found for cleaning a coffee pot is to put about 2 TBLS of baking soda in place of the coffee grounds and run the cycle with about 1/2 pot of water. I then fill the pot the rest of the way with water & ant residue comes right off…
I really want this mop because it seems so easy and actually RECOMMENDS no toxic chemical cleaning!

my only tip is to keep the clutter down, routinely clean out closets for garage sales or donations and immediately open and sort mail, getting rid of all that junk mail and ads helps keep the clutter down. I want to win this because this sounds better than the swiffer refills
