Sikulu and Harambe

untitled21

We love story time in our house. While we have ‘quiet time’ that involves being shush-shush during cuddle and untitled31movie time, we still love our story time. When we received the new Sikulu and Harambe Book, Tucker was really excited! He loves books in general, but to get a book that he has not seen yet, was fun. Sikulu and Harambe is an African version of the Good Samaritan Story. I really enjoy reading my kids books that aren’t just your average books that you see everywhere. I really enjoyed the illustrations in Sikulu and Harambe, as well as did my kids. The overall story was fun! What, as a parent, that I liked was that the names: Sikulu and Harambe, were spelled out in pronunciation so that I could read it properly to my kids. There are not too many words on each page, so when I am reading the story to my little ones, I am able to read and point out things about the graphics that my kids can relate to and answer questions about. I also really liked that the overall story was rewarding to myself, and my kids; while showing them that kindness pays off.
