Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Before we know it, it will be Christmas, then the new years and a whole new year! How do you get and stay healthy? This year, I lost and have been happily maintaining a 53 pound weightloss, but am about to start a whole new routine to tone up and to lose 10 more pounds. With the holidays so near, my plan is to do what I do daily – practice moderation. I firmly believe that you can still eat what you want, in moderation.

    My tip for weight loss and staying healthy is to find an exercise activity that you enjoy (walking, bike riding, yoga, etc.) and that you will stick with. You won’t generally stick with something you don’t enjoy so better to choose something you like. Kick it up a notch if your routine is feeling monotonous and/or you have hit a weight loss plateau to get you back on track with your goals.

  10. I think if you get up early and do your workout routine, it sets the tone for the whole day. There’s no way you want to indulge in those cookies or chips after you’ve put in that hard time already.

My biggest tip for losing and keeping off weight would be to try to always keep sight of the big picture and to use the internal satisfaction and increased energy you get from being fit as motivators as opposed to focusing on your external features, waist size, etc., which I don’t find help me maintain a long-term commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Also, though they’re basic, getting enough sleep and drinking at least eight glasses of water a day, really help keep me on track. Thanks!
