We love the Step2 Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen! *Review & Giveaway* (Closed)

Last month, my house became a bake shop in the kids play area. I am madly in love with the Step2 Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen! I think I spend more time at it than any child does.

If you want to talk about role play, I wanted to show you the fabulous #ixzz0OvgtK3O1 “>Step2 Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen.

step2logo-newWARNING! It could make your real kitchen jealous! This deluxe play kitchen is loaded with features, accessories, and storage space, which will keep your children busy for hours imagining that they are a 5-star chef!

  • Appliances make realistic electronic sounds
  • Granite-look countertop
  • 38-piece accessory set included (accessories may vary)
  • Loads of storage space
  • Framed window with overhead light
  • Sink with modern faucet and pull-out sprayer
  • Adult assembly required
  • Made in USA of US and imported parts (phone, play food, light, faucet, electronic keypads and burner made in China)
  • Requires 8 – AA and 5 – AAA batteries (not included)

Here is my kids’ first reaction to the Step2 #ixzz0OvgtK3O1 “>Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen. They are this way every day with this kitchen! It is priceless and so much fun!

I took this video to show you a walkthrough of the Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen. I am amazed at the little space this takes up and how much fun is jam packed in it!

What do I love about the Step2 Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen?

  • I love that it is very sturdy. It is not top heavy, like I had originally thought it might be.
  • Very easy to put together
  • I love the sound effects that each section makes (microwave, oven, stove, dishwasher)
  • I love that the Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen really doesn’t take up too much space. We have it in our entry way, which the kids call ‘play house’ and it is perfect in there!
  • If you want to move it to another room, you can easily slide it where you want it. We rotate the kids’ toys and shift rooms from time to time, so this is perfect!
  • The price of the Lifestyle Deluxe Kitchen is right around $219.00 retail. Do I think this is worth the price? You bet! I have seen smaller play kitchens that are not built this good go for far more than this.

I firmly believe that having toys in your home such as a play kitchen truly opens up your child’s personality, imagination, and let’s them be kids while having that fun pretend play.

Step2 is introducing a wide array of new kitchens covering a variety of price points, home décor styles and play pattern needs. Whether for boys or girls, experts like best-selling children’s cookbook author, Barbara Beery agree that having and using a play kitchen in a home builds imaginations and cultivates a love for cooking while helping to promote a lifetime of healthy eating habits.

Whenever I visit/stay with my granddaughters, I always ask them to make me some “new” pictures (drawings) to take home and they are always happy to oblige me. They also know that when Grandma comes, they can pick anything they want to bake. Most times they have a recipe or a cake or cookie mix waiting for me. Each girl gets to contribute by adding ingredients, cracking the eggs, pouring the liquids into the bowl and stirring. If we’re making cupcakes, I let them ice one or two, but they always do the decorations on top of the icing, like sprinkles, etc. They’re always so proud of themselves afterward as they show their parents what “they” made with Grandma’s help, LOL. I also spark their creativity by sitting down with them and working puzzles, playing alphabet and letters “Bingo” and playing dress-up with them. I have as much fun as they do, LOL:)

I found several items to put on my Christmas shopping list for my two granddaughters, ages 3 and 5, like the “Feed & Learn Singing Frog” from their Thinkativity line (#620107). You “feed” the frog one of 10 animal chips and he sings about that animal and then asks questions about the animal, colors, counting, places and more. This item won the Creative Child Magazine Preferred Choice Award. This would be a toy both girls could benefit by:)

Between you and me, I hated those easy bake oven cakes…yuk…but I never let on to them that I did. As far as role playing, they really liked to pretend they were daddy going off to work. They would dress up in their dads workclothes and grab his spare lunch pail and pretend they were him going off to work. I know there’s more but it was so long ago, my memory isn’t what it use to be.

Grocery Store: Here is a favorite game we like to play. To set up your grocery store, place canned food from your kitchen around the living room. Someone pretends to be the shopper, while the other person in the cashier. The shopper goes around the room “shopping” by picking out the food he/she wants and placing it in the shopping cart. If your child does not have a toy shopping cart a basket from around the house works well too. When it is time to check out the cashier rings up the food and bags it (we use plastic shopping bags we save from the store). A good alternative to a toy cashier machine would be a calculator. We even clip coupons for the shopper to use (hey it’s never too early to start installing money saving tips to your child). Then we play again and reverse the roles.
We have alot of fun and the kids love this!! It’s a wonderful way to spark creativity & role play with the kids in your home!!

For role playing and creativity me and the daycare kiddos play restaurant and boy do they love setting the table. Of course I am the patron all the time. They laugh themselves silly when the food they give me makes me sick and I fall off my chair. We also play store. I give them play money and they fill a bag with stuff to buy and I use the Barbie cash register to add it up and I let them pay. They love it.

Anyway, I would also love to have the Skyward Summit for the kiddos to use outside with my Extreme Coaster.

You Holiday Themes to create creativity in your kids.
Let them pretend they are cupid trying to get mommy and daddy to want to kiss each other.
Let them pretend they are the Easter Bunny getting all the supplies made to put in Easter baskets for friends and your family.
Let them play School Bus Driver and what he or she might say to each child they pick up on the bus route, and what they’d do to keep from hitting a dog in the road.
Let them pretend they are a chef buying groceries to make a banquet for a holiday of their choice.
Etc. Etc. Etc. It’s endless if you think themes and give them little hints. Play along with them too, you can be a character in their role playing.

Oh and David also loves to play going to work like daddy. He hops on his little bike, waves goodbye, makes a lap around the house, and comes home for a big hug!

My kids love to play kitchen and restaurant. I have a very old hand me down kitchen right now for them. I’ve made up menus for them with their names on them and covered them with clear drawer liner. They love waiting on me and serving me what they’ve cooked up. I give them my aprons and even have a chef hat for them to play with. Of course they enjoy actually helping me in the real kitchen too and are the ones who always have to crack the eggs.
