We live in a small town. When I saw small, I say tiny. We have a junky fast food place and (you guessed it) a Subway. You would think my 4 year old would want to go to the fast food place to get a kids’ meal, but where does he want to go? Subway! I never got in to Subway until I met my husband. I thought it was all greenery, plain sandwiches (can you tell I am a meatatarian?), but boy was I wrong! For the last 7 years that I have been with hubby, anytime we travel and need to grab a bite on the go, we always stop at Subway. Sometimes I will get a sandwich that is lower in calories like a ham and cheese on wheat or roast beef on wheat, but here and there I will splurge and get a Subway Chicken Pizziola Sub. I know.. I know. Over 400 calories in one sandwich, so when I desire it, I do still count it for my calorie intake for the day.
Another thing that I LOVE about Subway, other than the drooling Chicken Pizziola Sub, is that Subway gives back. I am very active in my community’s schools, so anything I can do to help, helps them and it makes me feel great knowing I was able to help out. Subway has a new program called “School Rewards”. SUBWAY now rewards you for dining with them! Simply load any SUBWAY card with any desired amount and go online to link it to your child’s school. Your school will then receive a percentage of your purchases to be used however they wish! If you are active Subway visitors, this is a great plan for you to help give back!
The great thing is that anyone can participate…give teachers, Aunt Sue or Grandma a pre-loaded and pre-linked Subway card for the holidays and they can give back to your school all year long! Share the info with your PTA, the football coaches and anyone else that can help you champion this healthy and worthwhile initiative at your school!
What is a great holiday git idea? Who doesn’t love food gift cards? We have been buying for holiday gifts and have already purchased a few Subway cards to add to our loved ones’ gifts.
Sure, we all know who Jared is, that is a huge weight loss spokesperson for Subway. When it comes to child obesity, we all want the best for our youth. With my Subway kit, I also received a Random Acts of Fitness Kit. This is so awesome! I can use it, but I thought it would be better to send it on to my local school, I donated it to our local school so that they are able to help combat child obesity in their classroom. This cool curriculum helps kids learn to be healthy and active throughout the year! For more information, please go to www.subway.com
Mommy Goggles Review Policy: I received a gift card to Subway, for this posting. I have a 9 and 11 year old. I keep them busy in soccer all year as we are fortunate to have an indoor sports dome in Upstate NY. We also utilize our senior and community center which has a gym and walking track.
my children and i love to iceskate , when not doing that we go to the ymca it 5 min away
We love to run around a lot, and play Wii Fit!

The kids love playing out in the back yard. Thanks for the chance to win!
We turned our garage into a play room and the way it is designed there is tons of open space to run and play. When all of the toys are picked up and put in their proper place there is room for Lil Man to ride his tricycle and little 4 wheeler bike around.
I don’t have school aged kids now, I don’t know if that disqualifies me. In it’s place I’ll post how I keep my husband active during cold weather. I make sure he goes out to help me with yard chores every weekend to rake, trim, and keep moving.
I put a treadmill in another room with a TV so he will use it while he watches football without too much prompting.

We have a big back yard and go out there nightly to play outdoor games.
Helping out in the garden and with yard work is always great exercise. And it is rewarding for the kids to see things growing.
When I do my excersizes via DVD, my daughters join me.
We love to be outside playing when the weather permits. If it is too cold, we play our Wii Fit game to stay active.
Keep youngsters occupied by always having paper and drawing materials handy. It’s a great outlet for creative minds and everyone is an artist.
My son isn’t school aged yet but we spend lots of time running around the house, playing. He loves chasing me. Which for now, is all he needs. Thank you!
helping me cook, clean and organize
Love Subway! Gift me please!!
I have a 9 yr. old daughter and 5 yr. old daughter. The nine year old is really into softball. She plays it 9 months out of the year with games and practices atleast 4 days a week. My 5 yr. old is full of energy. She’s always running a round doing something. I probably don’t make them do enough physical activity at home though and I feel bad about that. They can’t go out and ride their bikes like we did when we were young. I need to get them into more activities and I’m going to look into that. Thank you!

My daughter isn’t school-aged yet, but I keep her active (rather, she keeps me active) by playing around the house in her walker, lots of tummy time, and recently by trying to help her support her weight standing.
well i play outside with them
The Wii fit is a fun way to stay active during the long winter months.
I have a very active 4 year old that is in dance class and we go for walks to the park whenever we can!! W e love Subway also!!
Cooking, crafts, bike riding, walks, sports w/ the local kids, swimming. Anything we can think of.
We try to go on family bike rides and alo walk the dogs each day! We live at the base of the mountain in the desert and there are great hiking trails! We try to get out and hike whenever we can also.
They have a routine.
1) Homework
2) Chores
3) Outside if it’s nice out- free time if not (till dinner)
4) After dinner – shower
5) Pick clothes out for the following day, get lunches and back packs ready, ect.
At night, it’s board games, YV, video games, or whatever.
I don’t have children (yet) either. However, my nieces keep active by using the trampoline or swings…also the they go for walks with the dogs.
Inside, we do crafts. When it’s nice I send them outside and they play with the neighborhood kids.
Sadly, nobody is very active in my house. That will hopefully change when my son gets a little older and can actually do stuff (he’s 4 days old right now), but for now, we’re all just fat lazy blobs of goo.
I try to keep them involved in school sports.
my kids are older now, but we used to keep busy by baking, ats & crafts. mostlt a&c they are both very talented so it was definately easy.
My son is grown and in college but I do have 3 nieces and 2 Godchildren. I keep them active by letting them run around the park or beach, playing ball and swimming. They all love to be outside (thank goodness) and I practically have to drag them back inside. No problem here with getting them active.

Both my sons play Hockey so this keeps them active in the winter.
When they first get home from school, the have to jump on the trampoline, shoot some hoops, kick a soccer ball, or something after having sat most of the day at school. We are also involved in sports.
I teach special needs students. We walk laps indoors and keep track on a large map of how far we’ve “walked”.
Luckily, we live in the Phoenix area so we’re able to stay active outside almost every day. My kids love to hike.

I have a first grader, who is 6 years old, and two non-school aged boys (3yrs & 6mos). We keep our oldest boys active by encouraging them to play Wii sports games & taking them to an indoor play-place that our museum has when the weather outside is awful. On good days we take them to the park and play tag! We also remind them (and show them) how important exercise is; they do yoga and kid fitness videos.
I love Subway!!!
My son is in highschool. He joins the highschool teams and does some outdoor sports when not in school.

My kids are all gone from home but the grandkids like to play Twister if they can’t go outside. One of them got a musicalgame for Playstation and they like to dance alone with the one who is dancing. The older kids are learning to two step. We love Subway and would loive to win this.
For our grandchildren, it works best if we listen to them and do something that meets their interest instead of trying to entice them to do something we think is best.

Pretty much if I’m willing to join in, my kids are happy to be outside staying active. If I offer to ride bikes with them, they jump at the chances to circle around the neighborhood a few times. If I offer to kick the soccer ball, they are out the door like a shot. As parents, we really can influnce good healthy behavior if we are willing to modify our own. It’s hard, but worth it.
