So, if you have been following my Twitter postings, you will know that I am fed up. Fed up with cooking three meals a day? No. Fed up with washing endless sinkfull of dishes. That seems like all I do. Now, hubby is awesome at keeping the dishes clean when he is home. (We trade off. I cook - he cleans. It’s pretty much always been this way.) but since I have been a SAHM, I am always at the sink. We have a 1900 home, in which we only have 6 drawers in the kitchen to keep things in like silverware, towels, etc. Well, I only USE two drawers really. The others are lids, junk and a play drawer for the kids while I cook, so I will only really be missing TWO drawers, right? I don’t care! Where these 6 drawers are in my kitchen is where the dishwasher would go. I will have no drawer space. That’s ok, I know how to organize my pantry and cabinets to accompany my needs. I want a dishwasher!
I offered to even install the darn thing. So, if Sunday comes and we are still sitting here twirling our thumbs, I will be making a trip to the nearest Lowe’s (which is 80 miles away) and buying a dishwasher. I have had it.
BTW: I chose black because it would closest match our old stove that we have, and with stainless, the kids would be more likely to scratch it. I even took measurements and I even drew a cute lil’ diagram for when we go to the store.
If that isn’t the killer – I even offered to use the money that I have stashed. Now, you tell me; do you think I want a dishwasher? Never had one – now is the time.
So, what are the odds? Do you think I will get a dishwasher?
I haven’t heard NO yet, so .. we shall see.
