Urbanears Bagis Earphone & Plattan Plus Headphone

With my workout and fitness routine, one thing that keeps me moving is my music on the go. Whether I am out for a run, going for a walk or on an elliptical work out, I like to have headphones that can keep up with me. I had the change to try out a couple different headphones from Urbanears.

I have tried a few different brands and styles of headphones, but with the smaller size of my ear to hold the ear piece, it’s hard for me to find something that has a nice fit. With Urbanears Bagis Earphones, I was surprised that they were a nice fit and pretty comfortable.

Urbanears Bagis Earphone

Introducing the newest member of the Urbanears family – the Bagis.  The Bagis is a compact version of the Urbanears experience. It features earplug construction for direct sound and efficient noise reduction. Additionally, it has a rubber housing along with a combined fabric and TPE cord to eliminate distortions caused by friction. As a bonus, each earpiece snaps together, allowing you to carry them around your neck when not in use.

The Bagis features:

  • One year premium replacement warranty
  • Snap construction. Connect around your neck when not using the Bagis
  • Size adjustable with enclosed S, M and L sleeves
  • 120cm / 47” tangle resistant fabric and TPE cord
  • 3.5mm stereo plug compatible with any music players using 3.5 mm standard
  • Microphone and remote compatible with unprotected 3.5 mm standard such as iPhone, Blackberry, HTC and more

Urbanears makes headphones that fit your everyday life.  Based in Stockholm and launched in 2009, we supply the perfect listening device for anyone with a pocket full of music and a wish to make the most of it.  Our models are designed to optimize sound and captivate self-aware customers by matching preferences in size, style, design and function in relation to music.  Products are available in 40 countries.  Urbanears is the new color in sound.

Pros:

  • Snap lock: I like that when you aren’t using the headphones, you can take the ear pieces and snap them together around your neck.
  • Fabric cord: Makes for less tangle while storing for travel
  • You can pause or skip to the next song by using the clicker on the cord
  • Getting a call? Making a call? The Urbanears Bagis Earphones dual as a headset so you can also make and receive calls all on your Blackberry, iPhone or HTC.

Personal Cons:

  • I tried a couple different sizes of the ear pieces (sleeves), but my ears are just in between the smallest and the middle size. It does take some getting used to, but overall, the feel is very comfortable. The more I use the Urbanears Bagis Earphones, the more I do like them.

Another headphone that I had the chance to check out is the Urbanears Plattan Plus.

Urbanears Plattan Plus

Urbanears Plattan Plus1

The Plattan headphone features an Apple certified microphone and remote, with the additional functionality of volume control. The Plattan Plus is sold exclusively through all Apple Stores and online at Apple.com in the U.S.A. and Canada. The Plattan Plus comes in Dark Grey, Purple, Pool and Cerise and is available for purchase now.

The Plattan is designed to be the perfect classic headphone with all the additional features that make it above and beyond what a static headphone would offer.  Because you can fold it down to the size of your fist, the Plattan is extremely mobile, allowing for better protection when not in use.

For the Plattan Plus, the Urbanears team worked with Apple to incorporate a propriety chip for the microphone and remote, allowing users to smoothly navigate their iPod, iPhone or iPad from the remote located on the Plattan Plus cord.  Other features included on the Plattan Plus are a 3.5mm stereo plug, a 120cm/47” tangle resistant fabric cord and a ZoundPlug, allowing for a friend to plug in and share your music. The packing for the Plattan Plus features a white border—differentiating it from the original Plattan model.

Pros:

  • Foldable: I love that the headphones are compact which makes it easier to travel with.
  • Fabric cord: Makes for less tangle while storing for travel
  • Just like the Bagis, you can pause or skip to the next song by using the clicker on the cord, as well as you can use the clicker on the cord to make or receive calls and hear clearly
  • The headphones are padded nicely so you can block out external sounds and hear your movie or your calls more clearly.
  • I LOVE LOVE that you can use the Urbanears Plattan Plus by yourself, or if are sharing a movie on a flight or in a car for travel, you can plug in your Urbanears Plattan Plus to your movie outlet, and have the other person plug their headphones in to your Plattan Plus headphones and both of you are watching the same movie, on the same device meanwhile not having to share actual headphones. This is super cool!

Personal Cons:

  • I can’t think of any cons on the Urbanears Plattan Plus. Overall I love everything about these!

Overall, I love both the Urbanears Bagis Earphone & the Plattan Plus. For traveling, I personally prefer the Plattan Plus, meanwhile for working out, I prefer the Bagis. Both are simply amazing headphones with different qualities for each that makes me appreciate each one in their own way.

The Urbanears Bagis Earphones are available now for $30 USD in 8 bright colors including cerise, navy, orange, red, lavender, grass, white and black at well-stocked retailers. The Urbanears Plattan Plus are available for $70.00 and both are available from www.urbanears.com.

  1. I just bought my boys some earbuds for their Nintendo Ds. They ended up falling apart even thought they weren’t that cheap. These look like they’d be comfy. I like that the earbud ones snap together when you’re not using them.
