Picture this: We live in a small town and we have surrounding area radio stations, but we have nothing locally. We have NO radio stations here. Literally. None. Zip. Zero. Nada. When I was asked if I wanted to check out the VTech IS9181, I was beyond ecstatic!

Here are some videos to show you ease of set up. There is no sound, other than the radio station playing.

My initial set up. No sound/talking.. Just wanted to show you how easy it is to get started.

All set up. Holy radio stations!

Set up was amazingly fast and EASY! I plugged the VTech IS9181 in, on a shelf in my kitchen, followed the step by step easy instructions and within 5 minutes I had thousands of radio stations from all around the world!

Stations? What did you ask? Oh my gosh – are there stations? My first day with this bad boy, I scrolled through countless pages of stations, selections for genres, and yes folks, there is even a station for Michael Jackson! Like 80’s? There’s a TON of stations for that range. 90’s – gotcha. Current hits – oh, so many!

How is the sound? The stations are crisp. I am talking concert sounds.. minus the weirdo in front of you that is doing the air guitar.

What do I think about the price? Do you have to ask? The IS9181 WiFi Internet Radio is $149. Do I think it’s worth it? I can honestly say that I expected this to be more, but YES I think this is worth it. You don’t have to pay for satellite radio (PLUS!), you get a gorgeous radio for your home and all you have to do is connected it to your WiFi and walah – thousands of stations for you to listen to.

My only ONLY suggestion, and this is more like an ‘addition’ to the packaging/components, is to have the ability to mount the IS9181 WiFi Internet Radio under the kitchen counter. Think about it – how much time do we ladies spend in our kitchens? While this is a fabulous gift idea for a dad or grad, this is THE BEST gift idea for that stay at home chef, meal maker, snack maker, pantry organizer, kid chasing, internet working, house cleaning, boogar wiping, laundry folding mom. While the buttons are on the top of the radio, this could still be easily mountable sideways or under a cabinet, verses stand alone on a countertop.

Overall: LOVE IT! If you are techy, this is great! If you are not so techy, this is still fabulous! You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to be able to figure out how to work the IS9181 WiFi Internet Radio. All in all, great product, great price, great stations, great quality. Highly recommended!

    Since we moved into this house in 1986 we haven’t been able to listen to radio as we are situated below at the foot of a hill pointing away from the nearest major city (that being Montreal) where all the radio stations are located and we’re not allowed to set up an antenna boom high enough to get reception either.

    I like to listen to the radio over the internet. However, it get’s very annoying when I go on a site and the website’s sound interferes. This way I could listen to internet radio and keep my computer muted.

    My wife is from Poland and would love to hear some of the Polish radio stations that broadcast over the internet. It would also help with the teaching of our young son Polish. I would listen to NPR in the mornings and at night as well as the BBC.

    This would help me because I am constantly carrying my ipod from room to room. I love music but the quality of radio is really poor so I find I rely on my ipod all the time and having something like this that is more stationary would avoid one more thing I have to worry about!

    i would actually love to use this at work – right now our reception has this really old cd player/radio that is always on, but it gets major interference if anyone stands too close to the antenna!! the v-tech internet radio would eliminate that problem and let us play great radio stations that our clients would love (we work with an elderly population – so finding a radio station from the 30s and 40s would be a hoot!)

    Oh this would so help me in so many ways. I happen to live in a big city. And close to an airport and a major busy highway. Whenever I try to listen to the radio. I don’t know how many times. I pick up conversations from air traffic controllers or baggage claims from the airport. To truck drivers and their conversations while driving down the highway. This would really be a blessing to win!!!! :good: And I can get back to listening to my christian radio programs every morning.
