I have always loved to bake cakes, but never was really ‘in’ to baking a whole lot. Not because I didn’t love it, but because I didn’t have the right tools for the job. Whether your cake is in a plain round pan or a plain square pan, sure they may taste the same, but wouldn’t it be neat to bake cakes that the pan is in a fun shape and you can have even more fun decorating, presenting and eating your creation?
I have to say that I adore Wilton’s products so much! I have always been a Wilton fan, but more so recently because of their adorable and wide selection of baking pans and accessories. For Kambry’s 2nd birthday, we had her party on Halloween, shared it with her best friend and it was on Halloween. The girls had a beautiful and fun Princess theme, so we thought it was fitting to use two cake pans from Wilton.
Dimensions Gift Pan

13.5 in. wide x 2.5 in. deep; takes 10 cups of cake batter. Lifetime warranty.
Dimensions® Gift Pan: $30.99
This pan was very easy to use, but it did take some patience. It looks easy to use, but the frosting part of it, to make it look smooth, was tougher than we thought. I have some fun ideas in store for the holidays with this gift pan!

The next pan that we used is a great set for any princess!
Wonder Mold Kit
Creates an elegant 3-D shape for decorating fabulous dress designs. Use with our Teen Doll Pick to make the doll of your dreams. Pan is 8 in. diameter and 5 in. deep; takes 5-6 cups of firm-textured batter. Heat-conducting rod assures even baking. Kit contains pan, rod stand, 7 in. doll pick and instructions. Aluminum.
My first tip for you all is ‘don’t put your husband in charge of taking the cake out this pan’, otherwise it won’t get done right. LOL Even though the cake needed to be taken out of the pan after it cooled, the men decided to leave it in the pan all night, so we had to pry out the cake the next morning. Either way, the cake turned out cute, and the girls were in heaven! My friend, husband is a king of making fondant so he made the pretty pink layer for the outside of the cake. We didn’t have time to do the doll’s hair, but will for sure next time. All that mattered was the girls loved it! Instead of doing the top of the doll’s body in icing, we put a new pretty top on her so that the girls could reuse the top later.
This is all that you get in this kit.

It is so easy to use; screw in the hollow center, then pour your batter in the base of the pan, cook and be sure to cool a few minutes before getting the cake from the pan.

My mom took a cake decorating class when I was about four years old, and I will always remember the doll cakes that she made for me. She didn’t do them often. She made the doll’s blouse out of icing, too, I remember that. It’s a very special cake for a little girl.
